Your job is to review the decision of governmental bodies, not provide a rubber stamp!!!
Personally I wouldn't bother contacting this office about local council complaints, you'd be better off in my opinion seeking independent legal advice as my experience with this office is that it is poorly run, condescending and arrogantly dismissive. They'll send your private information to other parties without consent and quite honestly I cannot trust them and question what they actually do there! Good luck with any dealings. I hope they change.
These guys do nothing another waste of tax payers money
Wayne Lines from this office stated that they do not want to waste resources on someone like me when I complained about West Torrens Council's maladministration. He also commented he did not want to commence the investigation just because it could benefit me not the public. Steven Strelan Confirmed this ill theory that they will not do anything any more and decline my files and have it remain closed. It seems that Ombudsman, same as local council has immunity under the legislation that even if they do nothing they are not liable to any civil penalty. As far as I know government employees like those two have an annual salary between 100k and 150k but seems have little work to do because they can deny every case by saying it is not in the general public interest!
Should put email address for the housing trust ombudsman on the top of the page why make so difficult to find the email address ?
In my query, the Investigator tried on 2 occasions to deceive me by implying a public servant now working in a different state Govt. department than originally could not be contacted by the Ombudsman's office. This is of course absolute rubbish! The worker in question did not give me ordered documents - this is an administrative error. Something the Ombudsmam's office is set up to do! Talks with management were fruitless with management's feeble attempts to ''cover up'' by trying to change the subject matter, divert attention and ''make excuses''. This is what happens when you have Labor Govt. ''leftovers'' in a Liberal Govt. who still abide by the Labor Party mantra to deceive, frustrate and obfuscate. Old habits die hard. Our Ombudsman's office is deceptive and dishonest. What an insult to the tax payers of South Australia.
