My husband and I booked for dinner here last New Years Eve. We wanted somewhere with a view of the sea. This is a spectacular venue, spacious and with expansive vistas. We left feeling disappointed with our rushed and less than polished service, from three different, disinterested, table attendants. We were told there were no cocktails available.Shared prawn entree mediocre, bland flavour. My husband enjoyed his fish main course. The Beef 'Wellington' style was not 'Wellington' enough. We were sure we had seen special coffees somewhere on the menu, but when we asked about them the waitress didn't know what we meant. It was only after we paid that we discovered they were on the dessert menu. Too late. I think this huge lovely atrium -style venue (massive open space inside main doors) could be used to much greater potential-live music, even dancing. Especially on New Years Eve! General lack of ambience.

We recently held our 2018 Conference in New Plymouth and our 80 strong group enjoyed a 5 course degustation dinner. The food was awesome as was the service. We had several people with dietary requirements and this was well catered for. People raved about the food for days. Sadly low cloud prevented us from enjoying what is supposed to be a spectacular view - a perfectly good reason to ensure a return visit!! Paula -FDANZ
