Rooms are okay. Bed was comfortable, conditioner bottle was empty. No toaster or microwave which I thought was pretty standard for even alot cheaper room.nStand out for us would have to be the slides even though one was out of order the kids had a ball. Poolside bar at the restaurant was good with happy hour being a hit with everyone. Grounds were freshly mowed and very well maintained.
3 Nights. Great location and an easy stay. We were returning to Australia from NZ and weren't quite ready to go home, loved having access to the little laundry room $5 wash/5 dry. Only issue was there are no amenities/supplies to wash dishes, there was a sign in the room saying leave them and they would be done by staff but they never were during our stay, we did get clean towels though so the room was accessed.
We stayed at Oaks Sunshine Coast with kids and had a mixed experience.nnThe pool area was the standout. The slides were excellent and the kids absolutely loved them. The pool bar was also great, but it felt like a missed opportunity not to offer table service. We likely would have ordered more food and drinks if that option was available.nnFood overall was hit and miss. Burgers and kids’ meals were great, and the steak was also good. Unfortunately, the parma tasted frozen and wasn’t eaten at all.nnThe room itself felt quite old 2bed apartment and worn and did not reflect the standard suggested by the rest of the resort. The air conditioning made a loud buzzing noise every ten seconds, which was constant and extremely irritating, particularly at night. The bathroom amenities were poorly checked, with the conditioner bottle completely empty on arrival, and the fridge was so cold that it froze our food. These are basic maintenance and housekeeping issues, but combined they made the room uncomfortable and left the impression that the accommodation side of the hotel has been neglected.nnThe buffet breakfast was okay. It was a basic cooked breakfast. The bacon was awful, but aside from that it wasn’t the worst buffet breakfast we’ve had.nnOne absolute standout was the restaurant manager. He went above and beyond to help a very upset little boy who had accidentally scared a baby duck, causing it to fall down a drain. The child was beside himself, and the manager took immediate action, grabbing a crowbar and lifting the drain to rescue the duck. The next morning, we saw the duck safe with its mum, which meant the world to the child and really showed the kind of person and service Oaks has on the ground.nnOverall, fantastic facilities for kids and a genuinely outstanding staff member, but the rooms and some food options need attention to match the rest of the resort.
Very good resort!! Everything that you need for your kids and family in one place.nAlso woollies a cross the road just in case and a pharmacy, G &G .nWe love the slides and the pools.nMy sons love the big jumping pillows and the play ground.nnAlso you can buy food from restaurants or cook yourself.nnGeneral very clean and quiet despite being very busy in school holidays.nnWe will definitely go back there.
The location is great, quick walk to the beach and the resort itself has a bunch of cool ammenities for kids - especially the water park. The rooms are pretty basic. The light sconces above our bed are missing so there are holes in the walls and you can’t have a reading light on if you’re in bed. One of the lifts stopped working. Cleaning staff obviously doesn’t refill soaps etc as the conditioner bottle was empty.nRooms are clean, beds are comfortable-ish. It’s a convenient hotel if you want a relatively cheap beach holiday with the kids.
