We booked a meal at this hotel on recommendation of some friends, and we were not disappointed. The menu had a good selection of dishes, and the food was excellent. The service was quick and the staff were friendly and helpful. A big bonus was the sweet trolley haven’t seen one of those for a while, and the chocolate fudge cake was huge and delicious! An excellent eatery well recommended.
Excellent for food. Fresh fish and large selection of different meat meals. Had halibut stuffed with crab and prawns. Lovely fish plus various selection of veg. The sweet trolley was inviting. Large selection. Very friendly staff. Lovely and clean and large bar/lounge eating area plus a very attractive restaurant.
We had Sunday lunch here today on the recommendation of a friend, so glad we came, the food was amazing and 1st class service. The atmosphere was fabulous and the sweet trolley was just scrumptious. I would give it 10 stars if I could, well worth a visit if you are in the area. We will be back. Many thanks.Service: 5/5
What a find this was earlier today, after a hard morning's play on the beach at North Landing! We arrived unannounced on a busy Sunday lunchtime, but the staff couldn't have been more helpful in finding us a table and making us feel welcome. The service and food were excellent and we will most certainly be back next time we are in the area. Highly recommended and a big thumbs up from us!
Popped in for a couple of pints, really nice location near the cliffs. It has a large car park, with plenty of tables around the perimeter. The pub part looked a bit old fashioned, which I absolutely loved. Friendly staff, I have heard great things about the food there but didn't have chance to try . I have no idea about the rooms.
We had a cup of tea and a dessert on New Year's Day. Good to see the desserts were covered, it was delicious. The place was packed with people who had booked meals food looked good we fully expected to be turned away as they were so busy. But no our order was quickly brought to us by friendly and efficient staff. Thank You.Service: 5/5
Came for a day out to have a Sunday lunch. And found this pub at Flamborough. And wow gorgeous food decent portions and get your moneys worth. The food is homemade it was beautiful. And the kids loved the puddings. Ate them all well worth the visit.Service: 5/5
Two time restaurant visitor. Headline notes, this is a wonderfully old fashioned restaurant in the best possible sense, all the way to the much-vaunted dessert trolley. But the good-old-days feeling extends to the staff and the menu which is fantastic. Aside from the kids chicken nuggets, everything on the table was home made, all the way to the mint sauce and it showed. The steak pie was clearly not microwaved, as so many often are in country restaurants and unprompted more vegetable sides were provided when it was clear we'd eaten most of the carrots. Some years ago we visited as a large family group with two very small toddlers and has a very positive experience. Came again on our next stay at Thornwick and we have only good things to say. Food portions were very generous and reasonable priced. Staff offered any adult meal in kids sizes so the menu is much more expansive than you'd first assume. It was a genuine challenge to decide what to have! If you're staying at Thornwick, make sure you stop here early in your visit so you can schedule to go a second time before you leave! A must-visit. As a little extra less the hotel/restaurant and more the general area if you go in the spring/autumn, the hotel lives up to its name as it's also an incredible dark sky spot with the milky way clearly visible even without darkness habituation.
Food was great and staff were very friendly, respectful and were very knowledgeable of the menu, drinks and recipes of dishes etc. Good prices and portion sizes. Would definitely recommend. Thank youService: 5/5
Homely atmosphere with kind and helpful service. Pictures of all 3 courses we had - can attest to tasty and value for money. Always go for the dessert trolley
