What a great little pub! There’s plenty of atmosphere but not too noisy. It was good to see family groups having catch-ups. The spirits section had good variety. Looks like there’s live music on a Sunday, which I managed to miss. There’s always next time.
Great venue, intimate with a good sound system and top indie bands. The staff are friendly and professional. There is always space in the back right hand side and a raised area at the back do no drama seeing the stage. Decent and reasonably priced pub grub with veggie and vegan options so why not make a night of it!
I wanted to share my experience from our visit yesterday. My brother, boyfriend, and I went to Northcote Social Club for lunch to celebrate my brother’s first drink. While the bartenders were super polite and helpful, we had a not-so-great interaction with a woman we think was the manager.nnAs soon as we walked in, we were asked for our IDs without a greeting, which felt pretty off and didn’t sit right with us. She then turned her back to us while preparing things, leaving us waiting awkwardly. When she finally checked our IDs, she made a comment to my boyfriend, saying, “you look very different,” which felt rude and unnecessary.nnMy brother has autism, and while the bartenders were kind enough to help him with drink options, the manager's reactions and facial expressions were really disheartening. It was disappointing to see such unkindness, especially since we were all just trying to enjoy a nice outing.nnI really appreciate the bartenders for turning things around—they were respectful and made my brother feel comfortable. But that manager's behavior was just off-putting. I’ve been to the pub before and had great experiences, so this was a letdown.nnFive stars for the kindness, patience and professionalism of the bartenders truly thank younnThank you for reading,
It is one of my faves venues to see a couple of my faves artists and perfect place to have a drink.nnMy recent artist I went to see is Amy Shark and she amazing on her acoustic and unplugged live concert
I've been here for a few gigs since moving to Melbourne, and the sound, space, and staff are excellent. It fully deserves its title as one of the best music venues in Melbourne.
