The $25 Steak Night was great. I chose the rib eye fillet and friend had the scotch. Both were cooked as we requested, perfect, service was fast and friendly and sides were great. We’d come back!
I was there for my O Week celebration for Collarts. We got finger food such as fried chicken, mini pies, and sausage rolls. The vegan arancini was a little flavourless. Good service and friendly security.
Came here for the RUSU End of Exams party 14-11-2024 as a first timer to this venue. Wagyu Beef cheeseburger was juicy and delicious!nnSound systems in both rooms were L-Acoustics, the greenhouse room was treble heavy though. Main party room was much more balanced. I had fun though!nnSecurity guy 31 and his team are friendly and top notch, kudos to them!
checked out howler’s steak night after steakbabes recommended it!nnwe both picked the scotch fillet cut cooked to medium raren- $25n- 7/10n- steak was good and cooked well! definitely not the worst but not the bestn- i felt like some parts of the steak we got was really chewy especially the sidesn- the steak had a bit of inconsistency, some parts of the steak didn’t have that melt in the mouth feel whereas some other parts didn- the fries were really good, really enjoyed the seasoning! it had a nice herb flavor to it but not sure if they put lemon juice onto it, but i got a taste of lemon which i enjoyedn- didn’t come with salad unfortunately as u do have to pay an extra $4 which was a bit disappointing as many other steak places have salad included in its base pricennextra side saladn- $4n- 8/10n- standard salad, nothing too special however it was very fresh!nnoverall, the vibe is really nice and i love how open it is! the staff were super friendly too and were happy to place an order for an extra side salad since we didn’t order it not knowing salad does not come with the steak
I go for the gigs, only ate there once. Band room is nice, good sound usually. Last gig was Grace Cummings-fabulous. Front row was way too loud for my friend but I have my trusty earbuds. Good public transport from the city. My only complaint is that unlike most venues I go to they rarely publish set times. Makes it hard to plan a night. Great wheelchair access too not sure about the loos.
