Great place to swim, although the water is often cool I'm used the warm ocean temperatures in Queensland. When there are easterlies, lots of grass can be present, which makes swimming awkward. However, it was so a great place to bring the family, as it is usually a safe beach for swimming. Also, when the weather is rough, one can stop I'm in the ocean pool just south of Nobby's Beach. Overall, a great place to spend the day with family.

My favourite beach area in Newcastle. Where else can you sit at a beach, watching the dolphins,  whales,  surfers, swimmers, kids learning to surf, and see a ship coming in the harbour.. behind the sand?nSeats for dining, under the sun, or under cover and multiple levels of seating on cement. Swells kiosk for tasty food, drinks & and ice creams.nToilets and free parking.  Wide, shared paths for walking and cycling,  which lead you to either the breakwall,  the harbour foreshore, or Newcastle Beach, on level ground.nThis beach,  along with many others in Newcastle, has lifeguards on duty.nBig open space to enjoy, and I never get tired of photographing this area.

Best beach in NSW, calm waves, good parking, had a great time.

wonderful place to visit their bathroom on site was quite warm today even  so close to winter.  quite peaceful as well and pretty tidy allows dogs as well

A pleasant, clean and elegant beach. Ideal for spending a day at the beach, do whatever you want to do, swim, surf, read books or simply enjoy the beauty. The only thing is getting parking can be a bit challenging but you will find it after roaming a bit here and there.
