Story

Nirvana has stood the test of time servicing Darwin locals well for over 21 years. Focused on Thai and Malay food with some inclusions from their surrounding neighbours of India, Lao, Cambodia & Vietnam, the atmosphere is as eclectic and cool as their menu. Live music by local artists on the stage and a world class cocktail bar makes Nirvana perfect for large groups and parties and our rabbit warren of interconnecting rooms allows for a little romance and intimacy.

At a loose end .. looking for somewhere to have a bite to eat and can across this little gem. I like Asian style food and curries .. so was happy. Tandoori chicken was ok .. not the best I've ever had .. the Jungle Curry was awesome .. almost too much. Called off with a couple of beers from the local One Mile Brewery .. a good find. The service and speed that the food came out with was also excellent.
This place is filled with character! Great food as well. Staff were really nice. We were told the building predates cyclone tracywhich is very impressive and it shows. Cool live music venue!
This restaurant has super kind, friendly and helpful staff. The interior was a lovely surprise and there are several sections with a different metaphor. Ours gave us plenty of privacy and opportunity to chat and share plates. We were hanging out for greens and fresh veggies and our meals had plenty of those. We ordered a Pinot Grigio from Venezia which proved pleasant drinking. Definitely a place to visit whilst in Darwin.
Great restaurant around in Darwin. The staffs are very welcoming and absolutely loved the tandoori prawn. Very cosy and beautiful as well.
Fantastic food. Great spot for Indian, Thai, Asian. Great atmosphere and excellent service. But guys, wine by the bottle very very expensive. Good choices notwithstanding.
Its a three and a half star review from me. Flavour of the curry was really good but the pork tasted like it was leftover from another dish and tossed in, not cooked in the gravy which was a real shame. Staff were friendly, two stars for the staff and one and a half for the food. Had takeaway, if I got this in the restaurant I would have been gutted.
Great menu, fantastic food, friendly helpful staff. Arrived soaking wet after a downpour and turned aircon off so we could dry off. Good value,Food: 5/5

Came here as a child in the 90s and it is just as amazing as I remember. Fabulous ambience and food. We had small bites to share. Trio of dips + roti, curry puffs and pakora. All perfect. Bar at the front is vibing a cool American whiskey bar with live music on Saturday nights. Highly recommend!
An absolute gem tucked away on Mitchell Street. Awesome flavours in all their meals. Well worth a try.Food: 5/5
