Nielsen Park

Great place. A nice beach without waves. Has a safety net put in place so you can relax with the kids without worrying about them going further in to water or any large fish coming in. There is a walking track on the mountain side and provides fantastic views of the water. You can actually climb down to the beach from the other end. Please obey the displayed rules and do not disrupt the local environment. Watch your step as you go as well.

This is a family friendly beach that is great for swimming, has lovely sand, is north facing so perfect for the sun and had a good restaurant and Cafe. Plus the best fish and chips in Sydney is nearby at Vaucluse Ocean Foods. Our new favourite beach

This place has something mystical to it (esp. at night). Best bet is park your car at Greycliffe Ave, visit Shark Beach, maybe swim, then have a walk along the coast down to milk beach. One of the finest places in Sydney. So nice.

I love Neilsen Park but unfortunately it gets super busy so unless you're a local and can walk there I wouldn't bother driving and looking for parking on a hot and busy day.

Gorgeous swimming beach with easy surf (as it's on the harbour) and lots of shade and grass. Cute cafe and kiosk as well with decent food options.
