Forked out hundreds of dollars of not thousands here to spend over 12 months getting a diagnosis seeing dr after dr at the clinic because no one would help me and I could barely function. I was told to go to the dentist for a swollen tongue when I told him it was not a dental issue and had been going on for months he shut me down and told me to see a dentist then come back and he would see me again..., I was told that my nerve symptoms were all in my head by one dr yet he decided to advise I up my nerve medication despite it "being in my head". I was told that it was "just pregnancy symptoms" when it was an uncontrolled thyroid disorder and I could barely breathe and passed out the day before. I was fobbed off and sent elsewhere for 12 months seeing a dr at least once a fortnight and NOT ONE decided to test my thyroid until I saw Dr Hanson who tested my thyroid on the very first visit and found out I had Hashimoto's, the symptoms were so obvious yet no one prior decided to test it... I am now seeing a neurologist for the symptoms that were "in my head" thanks for nothing Dr Abbott, and my tongue swelling has gone down since forking out $250 for a dental x-ray for a thyroid condition and treating the actual cause, Thanks Dr Jeffrey. I am sad I spent so much money going to useless dr after useless dr here and basically lost a year of my life being bedridden a lot of the time and unable to function as a new mother.
I went to docs first time needing help as i have a mental disorder. And severe depression. I took evidence of it from some doctors letters stating its permanent. Im on disability. I took my federal clearance stating im upstanding citizen. The doctor said you look alright to me. And a few nights later im needing to go to hospital urgently. As my condition was not safe, told me by lifeline. So very callous and careless.
In my experience all staff have been very friendly, professional and competent. Dr Nicola Kuhn is fantastic at managing pregnancy and little ones. She is also willing to go the extra mile for patients.
Dr. Deepak Sidhu is lovely, kind and knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to his patients and address their concerns. Have found my new GP.
Excellent experience recently. Presented to the new Urgent care centre desk. Happily paid the admission fee and was taken to a hospital style cubicle within 2 minutes. Seen by a doctor 4 minutes later. Very thorough caring and efficient. Next to having a dedicated private Hospital with an E.D. this is a brilliant alternative. Cant get much better than this! Launceston needs this. The LGH is often overflowing with non-emergencies.
Love all the professionalism of the GP'S and nursing staff. Some lack of experience and communication skills within the young receptionist's. Over all fantastic medical practice. Highly recommend!
Never seem to be able to get a good rapport with a Dr as they are never at the practice for long. Drs are always coming and going again. Can't get into the older, longer standing Drs as they don't take new patients. Drs and reception staff are mostly grumpy and you get the impression they don't care about you at all. Will be looking for another medical practice to go to now as I have had enough of being ill treated.
Helpful friendly reception staff who kindly fitted in an interstate visitor. Excellent attention and resolution of my medical issue by treating doctor. Very kind and explanation clear. Gets a 10/10 rating from me!
Very good doctors and well maintained facilities. They have comfortable chairs in waiting rooms and lots of caring doctors and staff. They have a good online appointment system. Biggest problem is waiting when you arrive. I have waited for up to 1 hr in waiting room from the time of my appointment.the their credit sometimes the wait is very short. I wish there was a way they could make it so you don't have to wait - just make fewer appointments and have doctors waiting for patients instead?
I attended Newstead Medical with my wife who had an appointment suffering from bad vertigo. My wife had a 4pm appointment and we were told we would be next. after an hour and a half wait I asked again to be told still that we would be next. More than two hours in the waiting room to see the doctor for less than 5 minutes for a script and be charged a full appointment fee. Apparently the doctors time is worth way more than ours. Nowhere else would it be even close to acceptable to leave a customer waiting this long.
