Butchery are more than happy to provide special cuts if you ask. Love their lamb loin chops with side bone in. Recently bought the beef kebabs- excellent and the salmon kebabs - especially excellent. The bakery is one of the BEST supermarket bakeries I’ve ever seen and tasted. All staff are friendly and willing to help.
Our regular supermarket, I must say the range of products has gone. Where are all the range of products we used to buy ? it seems they have been replaced by PAMs products or deleted. One of my favorites is ice-cream cones the only box you can buy is PAMs which are much smaller. I emailed the manufacturer he said they are unable to supply their product under their name. Why is profit more important than supplying what the customer wants to buy. New World always used to say if you want it and we don't have it we will range it.
While the availability of parking and the presentation of all goods are excellent, I have a major concern about the ethics of this supermarket chain. The main mission appears to be to try and squeeze as much money from the customers as possible using a large number of sneaky tricks. E.g. having chocolates etc. at the counter, having a large percentage of items on so called 'special' deals, although the unit price is not dispayed so you dont know if it's special or not. Some items which you might expect to be cheaper because they contain larger amounts/ numbers are actually more expensive than the smaller packets see photo, more expensive brands at eye level with cheaper brands near the bottom, unit price if present is in very small type and difficult to read.nThe one saving grace is that New World is New Zealand owned I think. Oh, and the employees are always very helpful.nIt would be interesting to know the mark-up on all items because the weekly profit is obscene, so we hear on the news.nNo thought is given to the plight of the large number of hard-working lower income earners who are struggling to survive financially.
It's a grocery shop, let's be honest it's not going to set the world alight. Has everything you need, good selection of products. What else can I say, get in get out and try not to cry too much when you realise what the price of groceries are now
Very helpful staff, always friendly, and pack groceries into your bags, willing to go that extra step for their customers, makes shopping experience more enjoyable. Thankyou
