Was excited to come here as my sisters had nothing but great things to say. However, our coffees were lukewarm and weak : one tasted nutty even though it was whole milk? I assumed the pretzels would be warmed but did not register this until it was too late. Unsure if heating up items is possible but would be great to ask the customer if they want it heated or not. All in all a very underwhelming experience. Though I will say the cafe itself looked cute and inviting, and there was a reasonable selection on cabinetry foods.
Strange and a shame really - had heard nothing but rave reviews about this place but this was not my personal experience. Made a special trip across town to visit around 11am for an early lunch. Tried to engage in friendly small talk with the girl serving me and she wasn't interested for whatever reason ?? there wasn't anyone else in the shop so not sure what that's about. Coffee was nice enough, slightly on the cold side and unfortunately the girl serving me also gave me the wrong bread to what I'd actually ordered - didn't realise til I'd driven home across town. Little bit of a disappointment. I'd like to go back but won't be rushing due to the lack of customer service and wrong order :
Delicious coffee, breads, sandwiches, pretzels, tastiest, donuts and more ... and ... always super friendly service! Just a great vibe and yummy food
One of the very best artisan bakeries in NZ. Pastries to die for, incredible sourdough and a whole range of great breads. There's a reason for the queue outside the door in the morning! Do yourself a favour and get there early, and you must try the morning buns!
I’ve always been a fan of the Babco pastries. But I came in a bit later this time round and most of my favourites were gone, so I went for a toasted pulled pork sandwich. Wow! Amazing! What a meal. Shocked. It was very very good. Highly recommend to all.
Had a really bad week. My wife left me, half my house was gutted by a fire, can't find my cat, my parents have converted to scientology and worst of all my local pub ran out of my favorite beer. Went to Babco for kai and coffee. Everything's gonna be OK.
First time there yesterday. Was recommended by a friend. Queue out the door, and can see why! Absolutely incredible. Amazing sour dough bread!
Everything is delish! Good luck with trying to make a choice on the range of freshly made pastries and other savoury and sweet treats. Just YUM!
So Back down memory lane, Babco was one the first places I ever reviewed and I went back there to try so more things, so I felt like something savoury & I got there salted soft pretzel and a mocha which always beautiful when I go . If you up for some creative food @babco_nz the place to be . . . . . . #liveauthentic #foodbeast #eeeeeats #eatfamous #feedfeed #dailyfoodfeed #onthetable #lifeandthyme #f52grams #instapassport #aroundtheworldpix #ig_masterpiece #campinassp #flashesofdelight #travelog #mytinyatlas #visualmobs #theglobewanderer #forahappymoment #exploringtheglobe #purenewzealand #capturenz #destinationnz #discover_newzealand #newzealandguide #iphoneography #iphoneonly #iphonesia #iphoneography #focalmarked
Living in Melbourne and immersed in Melbournes cafe culture, I have somewhat high expectations so was a bit unsure what to expect coming here. This one however is spot on and would fit in nicely to any of the trendy spots in Melbourne. Had a Baileys Cruffin and a couple of cheese sticks - Absolutely delicious! I cant fault the food here. Relaxed vibe with good music, good set up. Would definitely be back next time I’m in town.
