Story

Neo’s owner, Luke Crawford, is also at the helm in the kitchen overseeing a seasonal menu that looks to celebrate the other local artisan producers in the region. Having cheffed for award winning restaurants in New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom, Luke brings a rare caliber of cookery to the café scene and is continually developing exciting offerings for Wellington’s legion of foodies.

Located on Willis St, our genuine and warm staff are here to serve you on your way to work, for morning tea, brunch, lunch or for your afternoon pick me up. Neo’s also one of Wellington’s hot spots for your daily dose of something special with an amazing selection of delicious baking crafted right on site.

Incredible lunch with excellent prices. The food was inspired and my heart broke just a tiny bit when my coffee finally ran out and I didn't dare have another one in case my heart actually exploded even though that would have been as good a way to check out as any.nI just wish I lived a whole lot closer to Neo Cafe as I would be there a lot.nnOh, and a huge round of applause for a place that still puts salt, pepper and sugar ON THE BLOODY TABLE, rather than hiding such things and forcing patrons to go searching for them. I can't remember the last time I saw this and I really, really appreciate it.
Be prepared to wait for a table!nVisited this bustling café on a busy Friday morning around 10 AM and it’s clearly a popular spot – be ready for a lengthy wait! We spent 30 minutes in line and another 30 waiting for our food, but it was worth it.nnThe staff were kind and accommodating, happy to tweak orders, though they might not check on you often due to the crowd.nnThe pancakes with passionfruit sauce are a must-try, striking the perfect balance of flavor without being overly sweet. Also, their unique coffee selections like the red velvet latte are delightful.nnRemember to bring your patience, but your taste buds will thank you!
It was the best coffee I had in New Zealand.nnDuring a week trip on the north island, we found some good coffee. But this place was the best of all.nnI had the chilli scrambled eggs. They were delicious. Extremely well executed, my wife had the buttermilk pancakes, which was extremely good.nnBut the coffee, that was a winner in so many ways. I had the filtered coffee and tried the long black from my in-laws.nnSo good. I recommend if you are in Wellington
The café made for an excellent weekday breakfast spot. Upon entering, I was captivated by its warm and inviting interior and the delightful aroma of coffee. The staff were exceptionally kind and seemed to enjoy the early morning shift.nnI visited with my partner on our way to the Cable Car and Botanic Garden. I ordered Eggs Benedict with hash browns and a flat white, while my partner chose the Chilli Scrambled Eggs with two sausages and a latte. These dishes appeared to be the most popular in reviews, and they indeed lived up to the hype. The hash browns were abundant, crispy, and formed a thick layer under the poached eggs. I was quite hungry, and the portion was more than sufficient. My partner also finished her entire dish, which indicated that she found it just as delicious.nnThe coffee was outstanding, likely made with Supreme coffee beans, a brand I like.nnOverall, it was a very satisfying experience and a perfect start to our day after our morning flight from Auckland to Wellington. I highly recommend this café!
Absolutely delicious food, the chefs do a great job! Muesli and bagel were absolute stunners. Coffee was just amazing .nVery friendly front staff Sunday morning we were a party of 4 and they were quick to sort seating despite it being sooo busy at the time.nnGreat team good food and coffee. We were very happy. Definitely recommend!
