The restaurant was full and every table had some sort of Briyani. I was the only exception. I decided to order $16 Thali. Veg curries were very watery - hardly any flavour. Meat curries were okay to taste but one small piece of chicken and goat. They do not do Naan bread here, it is tawa roti. Quite disappointed with the whole experience. Don't be fooled by number of dishes on your plate! Thali is no go zone, may be briyani is.
The Indian of choice for a lot of the local workers... and the dish to order is the special biryani, bit wet and with all the spices thrown in. Comes with deboned chicken. This was amazingly good... reminiscing the good ol days when spice lounge in Hawthorn did something similar but better. It’s spicy already and can pack a punch if you order the special and ask for spicy. I won’t tell u who that dingbat was We also tried the mutton biryani... hmmm very bland in comparison and not much mutton. 3 pieces counted.
all five stars for that tea in the morning and chicken dosa, it was amazing! though they start a bit late in morning but it was pure south indian taste
Never order anything else other than the overspicy and overrated hyd biryani here. We ordered two paranthas and one chicken currycould we have ordered anything simpler from the menu- probably not. After waiting for 40 mins and seeing everyone around us being served with a variety of dishesincluding Biryani, we left hungry and extremely frustrated. We could not wait any longer because the food would not definitely been worth itplus people have to return to their day jobs as well which the staff could not fathom. Never again!!!!
Food quality has gone down. Visited recently, cold tasteless food was served. Very poor customer service. I ordered special chicken biriyani, sides were never served, had to ask repeated times for cutlery and glass. On asking we were given smelly glasses from which we were not able to drink water so had to drink right from the judge. Food was cold and definitely not fresh, on asking it was taken back but unfortunately same quality was served again.
I have been here few weeks ago, being a hygiene freak to my utter dismay, I happen to notice the washroom and God forbid it was disgusting and there were tables right infront of it. The moment I saw it, I couldn't proceed with my food after that. The Restaurant was empty and the waitress seem to be very disinterested in serving and was reckless. There's no maintenance and the staff were laughing out pretty loudly while they forgot that customers were trying to have that dry biryani and 4 pieces of chickenwhich u apparently call as a starter. The quantity is very low and the biryani is also very dry and tasteless. Till date, it always reminds me of the pathetic and disgusting washroom scene whenever I think of this place. The owner guy must really pay attention to the hygiene improvements in and around that place and improvise the quantity and quality of food. Moreover, please teach your staff to be courteous and atleast a bit enthusiastic. They appear to be pretty bored and come up like they're doing us some huge favors by taking down the orders. Not Done! Wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.
Having had multiple times lunch at this restaurant, I went to this place again for dinner with the same expectation but the experience was disappointing. While the speciality 'Chicken Biryani' was up to the mark, other dishes was not good. Roti wasn't freshly prepared. Service was ok and had to ask for many things required.
Biriyani was good , chilli chicken was okay .!
Update 14/09: Quality has gone down considerably. Currys are more spicy now. Been there couple of times during lunch hour. I generally go for vegetarian option and food is always very good. Prices are also very much reasonable. Naan's are always fresh and crisp. Staff is very good and always serve with a smile. Servings are generous.
Just ate their Special Chiken Biryani.. top of their range and tasteless too. It was not 1% of the birayni too. It was all of one color, one flavor and so diluted that it felt like I am eating a Curry and Rice. The Chicken pieces were fried despite of marinated. This is the worst biryani I had ever ate in Melbourne. It was a waste of Money for me.
