Fantastic museum! My kids enjoyed it too. Very well kept, lots to look at and enjoy. Kids HQ was great and the clipboards with iSpy for the kiddos was fabulous too. Lovely little Cafe on site with gift shop which we couldn't help but grab a few lovely souvenirs to take back to QLD Australia to remind us of home. 10/10. Family Pass $35, well worth it.
Made an impromptu visit to the museum without expecting much and it turned out to be a fruitful visit. The museum is a nice stopover between Whakapapa and Napier : there is a cafe and petrol station nearby.nnThe museum itself presents a narrative of the NZ army and its history in context with world history with some highlights of its role in global conflicts abroad such as the two World Wars and modern wars. There are plenty of exhibits and dioramas presented throughout and the guides were engaging.nnThere are some hardware within the museum and outside for some photo opportunities as well.
It's quite a lot to see and very interesting. I am not army person myself but O have enjoyed the visit. Staff very friendly. We visited x2 adults and a kid.
This museum is one of the finest I have visited worldwide. It offers a remarkable experience, providing deep insights into history through well-curated exhibits and engaging presentations. The museum’s design and storytelling are exceptional, ensuring visitors gain a comprehensive understanding of its subject matter. To fully appreciate everything it has to offer, I highly recommend arriving early, as ample time is needed to explore its collections thoroughly.
Had a blast in there. I never imagined to have so much fun in the kids section with my boy playing dress up. We did not notice that we have stayed past the 430pm closing time.
