A place that makes you both glad and sad to be Human. They strike a good balance so individual strength and bravery is celebrated even if the conflicts the people were involved in were utterly bonkers but they don't glorify war. And the cafe is really good. So if you are in need of a good sit down and a cup of coffee head there. If you have imagination or empathy, you'll need a pick me up after the 1st World War exhibits.....

Amazing museum. I remember coming here as a child and really enjoying it. I brought my children to the museum because they're obsessed with tanks. They really enjoyed learning about our history and the exhibits helped give a visual representation of what it was like during wartime. I highly recommend visiting this museum. It is a valuable experience. There are toilets, souvenir shop and a cafe at the museum.

Great experience well planned and executed and there is something for everyone including children. I must add that the price is very reasonable much cheaper than expected. Great work guys. Well done

Well laid out museum. Great kids room and good museum kid activities. Kids can try on different outfits and hats. Lots of great information. Lots of great displays. My kids said the displays look like there are real people in them. That being said, wars are not an activity where everyone has a happy story to tell, so there are lots of sad stories to learn about here.

Fantastic museum! I have driven past it hundereds of times (like many kiwis I guess!) Well worth the visit. The back half of the museum is old school but the exhibits are great.. everything is layed out in chronological order. Great little kids area where they can dress up in army gears
