My family and I dined in at the Namaste Indian Restaurant at Eatons Hill during the month of November. We noticed that this restaurant had very good ratings and were expecting good things. To start with, our Entrees were delicious, tasty and pleasing to the eye. However, when it came the the 4 x Main dishes (all different curries) it was a different story, as they really failed to please. The servings were of good size and contained plenty of meat. Unfortunately, the quality of the dishes was brought down by two main issues: Firstly, the consistency of all of the curries were thick and paste like. The curries had the density and texture of thickened baby food and much of its ingredients seemed to have been pulverized. As a result, the curry did NOT have the same composition or granularity that you would expect from a traditional Indian curry. Secondly, the meats ( both the chicken and beef) in the curry had not absorbed the curry flavour. In my opinion, the meat was cooked separately and added to the curry 5 minutes before serving. This process did not allow the meats enough time to absorb any of the curry flavour. It is possible that they were having an off night, however when all 4 curries fail to hit the mark there is a real issue. Overall, I felt it was an average experience.

Great food👍🏻 We think it’s the best Indian we’ve had in a long time. The samosas are yum & full of flavour. The curries are very tasty with plenty of meat. This will be our new go to place for Indian. Very friendly staff & fast efficient service.

We have been eating at Namaste Eatons Hill for many years, and with the new owners there have been the expected changes you can get when a business has the original staff leave. Our recent disappointment with the takeaway service on a Friday night was very frustrating..... So why the five stars? Well the owners went to the trouble of calling the next day to apologise. Sometimes we are very dismissive when a person offers an apology when we have been left waiting for some time, you never know the true reason of what happened out the back as we are probably listening with a sense of skepticism and therefore miss the intention of the message. But to get the call from a very upset owner, brought me to believe me that these small business owners are trying to improve. They went beyond what we normally come to expect from people today, they demonstrated genuine remorse. I truly feel grateful that I received the call, after all it was only a delayed takeaway meal yet the effort to make the phone call the following day meant much more.

Ordered many dishes for takeaway. Ordered them to be mild. There was enough meat and ingredients but the curries were COMPLETELY TASTELESS. No hint of any spices at all. I thought 'mild' was just holding back on the chilli,not the spices. The samosas were made well but again had no flavour. The Dahl with veges was nothing more than baby food. Tasteless mushy vegetables. I have eaten Indian food all over the world including India, and also in home of Indian friends. But last nights meal was a waste of money and food.
