Take your winter camping gear and double it! Quiet campground, around 7 sites with fireplaces, toilet facilities and BYO firewood. Close to several historic hut walks and the imposing Mt Clear firetrail loop which will test your walking ability. No bins on site, so take it with you. Very cold even in autumn and spring as the site is in a frost hollow.

It is in a frost hollow but is otherwise beautiful. The toilet block is new and very well designed to minimize any smells

Nice camp ground but try and plan tents so you get maximum shade in warmer months. Has BBQ pits. Kangaroos will graze around your tent at night if on the edges of the grounds. Has a water tank but we found mosquito larvae in it so use at own risk. Toilet is not very well ventilated like some I've encountered. Bring something to block your nose. Rangers stopped by on Saturday and were friendly and enjoyed a chat. There are no sealed roads getting to this campsite but 2wd cars are ok. It did cost something like $5 per night but would have expected a little nicer facilities for a paid campsite. No swimming available like we thought there would be.
