Would not recommend at all. My son has a learning disabillty and attended prep year at this prehistoric school in 2018. My son has rights as a person with a disability – because dyslexia is recognised as a disability under Australian law. Federally, it is against the law to discriminate against a person who has dyslexia or a learning difficulty at a place of education. The way the prep teacher and vice principle spoke to my son and myself was disgraceful and highly discriminatory. I am a qualified disabillty support worker. No support was offered and the school councillor was told not to reply to my requests for a call back. Any time i tried to speak to the vice principle about my sons difficulties he would slam his office door in my face. Despite my son going through the diagnosis process and appointments for dyslexia this was how the principle saw fit to communicate with myself. SCREAM LOUDLY IN MY FACE in front of my sons class. Then get the teacher to suggest we "don't come back next year" As they "don't have the supports" That's illegal and it's up to the school to make adjustments. Not just kick children they don't want out of their school. Despite living two minutes drive away I now have to drive my son 22kms away to Nambour. Where he is provided learning support and is treated fairly. This school needs to undertake basic training on special needs and inclusion. I would suggest to parents of children with learning delays to attend Maroochydore or Nambour schools instead of Mooloolaba. Which has a poor reputation amongst people who work in the disabilty sector. Myself included.
Excellent school. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a primary school with in the in catchment area. Moved from Melbourne last year to find Mooloolaba State School Excellent in support and great teachers and principle. I love they are very family orientated school Couldn’t be more happy with our decision!
This school doesn't cater for everyone's needs. Had an orientation for my little one starting school only to find out there's no before or after hours care available. Makes it impossible for single parents to work and care for their kids. So disappointed
I used to go to this school when I was a young gun, then I moved to Melbourne, I wish I could come back to this school! Also how's Mr. Gaffney and Ms. Parma? Hope they're good.
This is a lovely school - both myself and my son went to this school, so we have a lot of history with this local school.
BEST PRIMARY SCHOOL EVER WOULD RECOMEND IT FOR INTELLIGENT PEOPLE
Awesome friendly school, great staff and after school care.
I love this school all my childhood friends are there I wish I can come back
Good kids, my son is flourishing here.
Great school. What a location!
