The Monty & Minx Calamvale Vet Clinic is a small animal vet clinic specialising in dogs and cats servicing the Southern Surburbs of Brisbane.

Although the clinic has undergone a name change as well as a face lift, you'll still see the same friendly faces of our rock star vets (Shibly, Winnie, Fiona) and super nurses (Candice and Kat). Iona has come back to work as a receptionist.

Here at Monty & Minx our goal is to provide exceptional pet care in addition to outstanding customer service.

This means that not only do we care for and nurture your pets as if they were our own, but we also strive to understand your needs as owners and therefore, in a way, take care of you too!

We took our Norwegian Forest cat here for euthenization. She was 18 years and 4 months old and we had nursed her along for the past two years with monthly solensia injections and daily doses of Gabapentin for her chronic arthritis. Layla was much loved, gentle and very intelligent though had some anxiety issues indicative of the breed. Anyone handling her unaware of her arthritis and temperament might think she is feisty or temperamental or being her usual self. Any animal can lash out if subjected to pain.nLayla would not eat or drink for almost two days before the difficult decision was made to euthenize her as breathing had also become laboured. We had been with two different dogs over time elsewhere one being mine and the other our daughter's for euthenization and it went really well. This  time after initial consultation Layla was taken by the vet inside while we waited in the consultation room. I made it clear I wanted to be present when anaesthesia was administered. We were traumatized when a prolonged period of the cat crying out just continued as well as the barking of a dog. One was loose at reception when we first came in unsure if this was that one. We felt we let Layla down by bringing her in. The vet came out to encourage us to leave as the wait could be long. She said the cat had to have pre calming injections three times in the muscle near the bottom.nSoon after Layla was brought out in her crate completely unconscious with cannulas set up. It wasn't worth sticking around for the finals as she wasn't aware of our presence and maybe dying at home would have been best.nHer life started badly when washed away in a storm drain before returning skin and bones a month later and at the end enduring so much pain. Our Layla had experienced good times previous to this at this clinic and there were no dramas compared with the past but when a decision like this has to be made it's often one that is made on the day and can't be scheduled ahead. Life continues and we will move on.

Thank you Dr Shibaly for being an amazing person and Vet.nnI just called up to find out how old our dog Lily is, as my Mum passed 7 years ago and we took Lily as custodians. But we actually didn't know how old Lily was - and Mum used to take her to Compton road Vets.nnDr Shibaly spent 10 minutes on the phone with me tracking down Lily's bday and providing advice for care in her senior years.nnCan't thank you enough!!

We have been going to MustCare / Monty and Minx since 2021. We have always had exceptional care from everyone there for our 2 dogs and 2 cats. This care has been essential since our puppy was diagnosed with meningitis earlier this year. We have to go on a regular basis to have check ups and they are always so kind and caring towards her. It feels like they genuinely care for every pet that enters their door. Can highly recommend.

MustCare Compton Road Vets truly is the most, friendly, compassionate, thorough & professional Vet Clinic in all of Brisbane.nnDr. Jodie is a brilliant Vet.nShe is calm, gentle & conveys information & care plan instructions in a manner which is very easy to understand.nDr. Jodie has a natural ability to calm a stressed animal.nnVet Nurses, Aisha & Trinity are really friendly, kind & full of information regarding caring for your beloved animal nnYesterday, our little sweetheart boy was not happy at all.nAfter a visit to MustCare Compton Road Vets, yesterday morning, he was tested throughly, Pathology Results were confirmed & he was prescribed the right medication.nnHe is already back to his active, happy &ngorgeous self. nnThank you to the Team at MustCare Compton Road Vets
