Cute little French inspired cafe in Kyneton. The coffee and savoury pastry we had was pure joy. Staff were friendly and helpful. This cafe is busy but you're treated and served by the professional staff.
Well, a VERY disappointing experience with both food and coffee.nI had the beef and red wine pie. LOOKED amazing. Wrong. The pie was absolutely cram packed with big chunks of beef which was VERY good except it was dry, dry, dry. If it only had some red wine jus it would have been amazing. To its credit, the meat was wonderfully soft but terribly dry. And the pastry was dry also. I LOVE pastry so much, but I just couldn't eat this at all. I ate half the meat because I desperately needed to eat something as I was travelling and in a hurry so the protein was important for me, but the volume I ate was about four small mouthfuls. And then the coffee - beautiful flavour BUT as you see the photo, this was actually a 'REGULAR' cappuccino. AND it was luke warm. Even though I had asked for it to be extra hot. I could have literally given it safely to a toddler to drink. All I did in the photo was eat the froth but Iook how LOW the coffee was in the cup! The very small cup to start off with with HALF a small cup of coffee! This is outrageously a rip off. I noticed in the reviews there were others who have complained of this. The cup was so small it was like a child's. I went there because someone recommended it. The only positive of the whole experience was that the coffee was nice tasting. But I will never be returning to this shop.
Just read your post about supporting local businesses and rate yours one of the best places in kyneton to stop, relax, watch the sometimes manic traffic on mollison street.nBest coffee in regional Victoria, love the hugh toasted delicious sandwhiches, and the never to miss desserts, the ice coffees are great also.nEverytime we travel up to kyneton we always have lunch there and love supporting you guys.nI hope everyone in kyneton does the same for years to come.
Great little French themed cafe on the corner of Kyneton, there’s a good selection of deli items most items are European not always French. The desserts look tantalising and flies off the shell tea quick. Great as a stop over before setting off for a long drive.
Usually when you’re in a small town, bakeries are the only thing open early 7am We were surprised when we got here and it’s a small deli/cafe type of vibe. Ordered egg and bacon straight from the display cabinet and two coffees. They also have an open window for all those quick takeaways too. Not bad
