Story

Moga restaurant is located in the iconic restaurant hub of Rosalie Village, Paddington. Moga is informal Japanese dining with a robata grill (hot coal grilled meats menu), market fresh sashimi and Japanese tapas style dining know as ‘Izakaya’.

Sit in the casual garden setting and enjoy our beautiful dishes – beautiful in both taste and presentation.

We invite you to enjoy your dishes with the large array of imported Japanese craft beers, wine, Sake and sake/shochu inspired Cocktails on offer.

Open for lunch and dinner. Moga Japanese restaurant also has a second dining area with a funky up market sushi conveyor (separate meals menu). The interior design takes inspiration from the historical eateries seen in Kyoto with their wood paneled walls, timber furniture and warm glow of dimly lit lighting.

I love Japanese food and this one didn't disappoint. Conveniently located and not too much trouble getting a park.

Came here for a late dinner (9pm) online it said it closed at 10pm. When we got there we were told it was last orders, so we ordered. The staff watched us eat our food and took the plates as soon as we finished and were packing up really loudly around us. I know we were late diners, but as someone who works in hospitality I felt like this was not okay. The waitresses were lovely and the food was nice but we felt rushed and watched. Awkward.

Really unfortunate. Have been here many times, I don't know why their standards have slipped. Arrived at 4pm and there were no staff to be seen, a customer or maybe an off duty staff member got up from their meal at the train to run out the back to get someone to serve us, staff seemed frantic/stressed. We then placed our order to be told they can't give us what we ordered both drinks and food. What eventually came out that was not stale and old was almost thrown at us or bashed down on the table, what was on the train was stale and old (there were gyoza where the soy sauce had dried on the plate old and the takoyaki was cold and hard...) and we resented paying the bill for cold, stale and substandard service. I am stunned - this was my favourite sushi place, I don't think we will be back soon if at all.

Some of the most expensive train sushi I've had in Brisbane with plates averaging $4.5 each. However portions were small and stale. Would have been better off going to  literally any other sushi place. Never again. Waste of money.
