A truly wasted dining experience whilst in hobart on holiday. Food was very much disappointing and a big let down. It seems it is not under the original management and as such food quality is poor now. Sushi rolls were bland, rice was unflavoured and overpowered with copious amounts of Japanese Mayo. Ramen was tasteless, more like chicken stock and not a true ramen. Pork katsu turned out to be a deep fried pork fillet without the panko coating. I had read lots of reviews and a 4.3 deserved a chance but I would rate this a 2 at best. Please save yourself a negative experience and I hope my review will bring the google rating back to a true reflection of this restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: A flight of stairs to access the restaurant on the 2nd level
I’ve known Miyabis existence for a while but I’m so glad I went here for a veeeery special occasion p.s had something to do with my sister leaving it’s in such a great spot on the top floor and the staff are among the kindest that I’ve met in Japanese restaurants in Hobart. We got there quite early and it’s almost like we had the place to ourselves!! VIP if you will haha. The staff had no idea why we were crying and laughing but sure made us feel very special.
MIYABI is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Hobart. The environment is very private and the food is very similar to what I have eaten in Tokyo. Teriyaki beef is very chewy and feels very fresh. Salmon nigiri is the best I have ever eaten in Hobart, and the shape is perfect, exactly the same as I saw on Japanese comics :

So yummyService is good as well. Highly recommend and definitely will come again
An absolutely amazing little Japanese restaurant. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good value. But the food was simply superb! Incredible quality and taste. I had their pork gyōza and mixed seafood okonomiyaki, and I will definitely be going back again. Highly recommend coming here for a meal!
Fantastic food and experience. Very quick, reasonable price and absolutely delicious. Lovely intimate environment. We went as 4 adults and 2 babies. The staff were fantastic with the bubs -able to provide 2 high chairs and relaxed about the mess they were making. Would highly recommend
Like another local Japanese establishment, haven't had a bad meal here yet and great value. Took a family member who had never been a fan of Japanese cuisine and they came away a convert. Only slight I could make was some slightly soggy tempura once and the banquet while not lacking in quantity was a bit grease and tempura heavy. Besides that, a great authentic Japanese dining experience.
My friends and I just finished having tea here. The service is wonderful, beautiful atmosphere and the chef dose an amazing job. I highly recommend! So yummy and so affordable!
Took ages to get food. Only two other tables dining. Food was really good, but was extremely over-priced for what you got. Tiny portions! Spent over $100 for a table of two, and had to stop at Maccas on the way home to get fed. and maccas sucks!!!
