It's Mitre 10 Mega, you know what you're in for. Bright, clean, well stocked store. The staff are generally friendly and knowledgeable and it's easy to find what you need. Range is a little limited in some areas though and value can be patchy. Kapiti would definitely benefit from that other (major consumer focused) hardware chain having a more serious local presence.

Always received excellent service from all staff I've talked with.
Staff seem quite knowledgeable on products they're selling (or they've referred me to a colleague for further assistance). 
Good range of stock on hand, better prices than their local competition.

quickly turning into a miter 10 I try and avoid! The staff really have noidea about the products they sell. The salesperson tried to sell me a masonry drill bit for drilling steel!
