I am very impressed with this hotel, great amenities including apple tv, Foxtel and pretty much the options such as screen casting as you don't find these options in many 4 star hotels.nnThe mini bar setup was quite varied from Tasmanian popcorn, lollies, chips, nuts with standard soft drinks along with sparkling waters and alcohol.nnHad a nice desk and table but the lazy boy style lounge chair was elite, literally could have slept in that!nnThe bathroom had a massive waterfall shower and really nice soaps and shampoos in the pump dispensers.nnDefinitely feels better than a 4 star hotel, couldn't fault anything and I was only here for a night.nnI've stayed in many 4 star establishments that come close but Mercure Launceston is absolutely spot on with room layout, amenities, decor and location.nnShall come again soon
My stay at Mercure Launceston was absolutely incredible — the location couldn’t have been better!nnOne of the staff members, Sam, was exceptionally kind and considerate. When I mentioned that I wear hearing aids and that the “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door kept flying away, Sam immediately understood and was so thoughtful in making sure I wasn’t disturbed.nnShe was also wonderfully knowledgeable about local attractions and things to do, which made a big difference for someone like me visiting Tasmania for the first time.nnIt’s those small gestures of care and attention that truly stand out and because of that, I’ll definitely be booking here again.nnThank You, Sam, and the team at Mercure Launceston!
After being told that I couldn’t get an upgrade to my room because the hotel was fully booked I am an Accor Member, the room that I was given was small, old, and in dire need of updating. Fan in the bathroom was incredibly loud, and due to the iron being hard wired into the wardrobe, you couldn’t access the bathroom with the ironing board set up.nDecided to have dinner in the dining room and was disappointed. Poor, uninteresting menu no steak or schnitzel on the menu will not entice corporate travellers to stay. I ordered lasagne - for $27 it was a small portion which was incredibly oily.nI have stayed at this site on numerous occasions, however this time would be one of the worst. Although the room was cheap, I would be happier paying more elsewhere for a better experience.nUnlikely I will come back.
The room was nice and clean, bathroom roomy and also clean. Nice touch to add ear plugs being on a noisy road, plenty of off street parking. If there was I didn't see but some instructions on how to use the espresso machine would be nice too.nBuffet breakfast wasn't that great, had to point out to staff that the jug of skim milk was off, baked beans and sausages were barely warm also. Was ok if your after basic brekky.nWould stay here again
Our room, a delux king room, was more like a prison cell. While spacious it only had two very small, high set, opaque windows without which the room would have been in total darkness. We had to go to the lobby to see what the weather was like outside! The bathroom had two rain shower heads that screeched constantly when turned on, ensuring a very quick shower as the noise was deafening.nnOn the plus side the reception staff were pleasant, helpful and polite.nnWe were extremely disappointed in our stay at this hotel. The room was not as advertised on the website.nnWe will not be back.
