It is the second busiest airport in Australia. The airport operates 24/7 and has on-site parking, shopping and dining facilities, pretty much improvement has been done and looks more better than before but still way behind to compare with world top airports, toilets need definite upgrade. Trolleys are very expensive $4 per trolley, 1.5 l water costs $9, and the car park is super expensive. I believe this airport is not compared to Singapore in price standard. One thing I will appreciate about management is to build a prayer room for Muslim travellers, very convenient and hard to find in non Muslim countries airports.
The international arrivals hall & baggage claim takes you on a trip back into the 1980's! The rest of the airport however has had major improvements & is modern & well designed. The International & domestic terminals are connected in the one huge sprawling building & is well signed posted for ease of movement. Parking ain't cheap but that's standard all over the world. I noticed several rest rooms had complimentary shower facilities which is a nice gesture for travellers. One area they could improve on is providing more charging stations for electronic devices at the international departure lounge & gates.
Airport was fine. It was pretty well signposted and there were helpful staff around. This was my first time navigating the domestic n international terminals alone.nFound some cute pandas along the way.
A well planned airport that provides relatively good access to terminals directly from drop off. Shame there is still no rail link however the airport bus is a viable option.Carpark is a dog's dinner at the moment. Signage is abysmal for arrivals... funnelling stressed out drivers to expensive parking $20 for 20 minutes for non-booked rate. If you're more than 5 minutes early, take the red free wait zone turn off. This allows up to 30 minutes free wait time, and there's an arrival board to keep u informed without expense. If collecting someone from the pink zone in Terminals 1-3, use the photos for sign trail
Melbourne Airport is well-organized with clear signage. Check-in and security processes are efficient, and there are good options for dining and shopping. Overall, a smooth travel experience.
