Meerkat Bistro

Ok food and beverage. Not many hot vegetarian foods. I couldn't get a burger with plant based patty. However we tried a new addition plant based nuggets and chips. They were ok, given that we never have tried one before. Kids enjoyed them.

We went on a weekday so wasn't as busy, and we were able to get a prime time view of the meerkats they have tables right against their enclosure. We got fish and chips and coffee, which was all great and served quickly Such a great experience!

Food was good but when ordering from mryum app my order never made it to the kitchen. Waited 30 minutes before asking to which everyone just shrugged and said the order was never received. Make sure your order goes through before sitting down.

I went there with Elise on Tuesday 20th September 2022. I had the Chicken Burger and Chips and Elise had the same but their buzzer wasn't working so the food was just sitting there for almost 1/2 hour before they bought it out so I complained because they gave me a spicy one instead of a plain one with cold chips so the lady refunded me the $20 back onto my card. I would recommend buying the Chicken Burgers and Chips from Grillz in Chirnside Park. Also they gave me an almond hot chocolate instead of a skinny one so I also complained and they made a one with skinny milk instead but it tasted like vomit so I would recommend buying the coffees and hot chocolates from Allan's Bakery in Kilsyth from now on.

Not terrible, not great. Pretty standard zoo food. The pizzas are probably the best value for money. Don't bother with the cheeseburger.

Zoo’s great. Cafe is not. Be prepared to wait a very long time for mediocre food. Frantic atmosphere.

Very average cafe with the redeeming feature of being able to watch the meerkats play whilst eating.

Not bad considering it’s the only cafe option at the venue. I have seen other places that charge unreasonable amounts for really sub par food. I like that the Meetkat Bistro have introduced the contactless ordering using QR code from the table. It’s both convenient and easy to use. Not overly expensive as I expected it to be.

QR codes are the ONLY option for ordering off the al la carte menu. Payment methods are pathetic and took half hour to pay! Why apple pay or google pay are not the default method is beyond me?? Using a credit card was a waste of time and unfruitful. Food was ok, but if this is the future method for bistro service i will stick to bring a sandwhich.
