Museum, Gallery and Function Centre
On 13 November 1979, 35 people attended a public meeting to form the Uralla Historical Society with the express purpose of funding the purchase of the derelict McCrossin's Mill Flour Mill building in Salisbury Street. Since inception the Society has undertaken substantial building restoration, exhibition construction and function centre development to create a progressive, entirely volunteer-operated museum.
The museum is continually updating its exhibitions and working to maintain the State Heritage listed 1870s buildings. Our most recent project is to replace the roof before a storm inflicts irreversible damage to the buildings and to the exhibits.
We are always seeking more help with the day to day running of the museum, the upkeep of the garden, and with organising functions which fund the ongoing operations of the museum.
