Matthew Flinders Hotel

We had my husbands 40th birthday celebration here, we booked a table for 20 adults and 15 children. The food was lovely, the staff very accommodating and overall it was a very well received evening. The meals came out in a timely manner and the staff were cleaning up the tables promptly. The play area had the kids entertained and for $25 we purchased a game of bowling which kept the kids busy for nearly an hour. Thank You for a lovely night out - we will be back!

The rooms are basic but clean and well maintained. Bar is fine. Restaurant is a bit overpriced but the quality of the food is good. Top tip: get pretty much the same food downstairs in the Sports Bar for a lot cheaper! The barman in the Sports Bar is great and looks after everyone.

My experience at Matthew Flinders Hotel was rather average. Albeit the atmosphere was calm, it was seemingly dates in terms of furniture. That's not to say it's a bad place to visit with friends and/or family. Especially, if you're ordering a Parma on a Tuesday when they offer the specials. In saying that, the food itself was nothing beyond our expectations on being average (actually their battered chips were delicious). Although a unique selection from parmas, even seafood based ones! The staff, for the most part were bubbly and nice. Kitchen and front of house were benevolent. However, the gentleman at the bar seemed rather dead inside, not much communication nor acknowledgment to the request. (Probably just a long day, I get it buddy.) Would I recommend it? Yeah, for casual drinks and decently priced food. If you get bored of the restaurant, at least you can either slip over into their gaming section or hit up some bowling.

Nice local club with friendly staff and bistro dishes. The accommodation is bigger than the standard rooms. The best location you can be at, that is close to everything.

Menu variety, good prices & service. Kids play area a bit outdated. Some of the coin-op games eat your coins. Needs some attention but overall nice place.
