Would give 100 stars if I could!! I was after some authentic and delicious Asian food for my birthday and this place hit the spot perfectly! The best Mapo-tofu I’ve ever had in my life and a very unique Chashu fried rice that will have me going back for more in the future. The smell of the wok fire wafting from the kitchen as the chef whipped up my meals was divine. I even asked for a takeaway meal after I finished so I could give some to my family. Forget about all those fancy Asian-fusion restaurants with pitiful portions and crazy prices! Come to Matsu for your Asian cuisine cravings and you won’t regret! Even better, you can get their food ubered to your house if you are in central Auckland.
First stop after arriving at our accomodation. Food was so beautiful and delicious. Will definitely go back if we have time.

Ordered via uber app. Quick delivery. Change of menu - tempura was cooked just right and shrimp was tender. One of the best I had. Mapo tofu was unexpected but ordered it. Again consistency was excellent. Not extremely spicy, just right. Would come again.
Their hotmeals are good and they have a broad sushi selection. Really good place for a quick lunch if you work around the area.Food: 5/5

Highly recommend: cod and miso soup Divine 5 out of 5 Also Ume maki roll. Sashimi is great presentation but taste is different than Japanese grade . Great cocktail options ! Tried buffet and were not impressed But the cod , miso soup and eggplant is highly recommended.
I go here a few times a week for lunch. The owners are lovely and the food is some of the best I've ever had from any sushi restaurant. The katsu chicken is perfectly cooked, crispy but never dry. The kare is perfect for rainy days and everything is reasonably priced for the portion size and quality. As of the time of writing this, they've recently added plants all around the courtyard area, making it perfect for an outdoor summer lunch. If you're in the area I can't recommend the place highly enough, definitely check it out!
