Story

Masons continues to strive toward offering the very best of Central Victorian produce in a relaxed atmosphere.

We offer a share style dining experience with the opportunity to enjoy a number of flavours. Not sure what to chose? We offer a Lunch Roaming Menu for $35.50 or enjoy a truly Masons experience, based on seasonal produce - the Masons Roaming Menu for $63.50.

Christmas Trading Hours 2017

Until December 24th we will be open as usual for lunch and dinner Tuesday - Saturday. We will then be closing from the 24th of December until the 17th of January 2018. Wishing you all a wonderful, safe and fulfilled festive season.

Exceptional tasting menu. Loved the theme and structure. Be ready for a slow paced degustation for a restaurant like this as it is a 3 hour dining experience. Everything was done with exceptional details and consistency. I would say 3 hours was a tad too long for our patience but understandable with the level of details and perfectionist in execution to the menu. Service was excellent as expected in a restaurant like this. A 2 hatter is definitely well deserved.
Had a very enjoyable visit to Masons of Bendigo in July 22. We had the $95 lunch as we wanted to try few more courses. Pretty amazed with each course, especially the presentation and the freshness that comes from using mostly local produce.
So good and a really lovely experience, staff attentive and knowledgeable. Delicious fresh locally sourced produce. You can choose to pair with local wines for $50 personally I wouldn't choose again as the mixture of Reds and whites gave me a headache. Totally enjoyed the taste sensations and plating of food was a work of art to behold. I was so full and content by the end. Really great value
Masons is a very fine restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The food was superbly presented and every dish was delicious. The matched wines were a highlight too. The service was gorgeous as well. This is a most impressive regional restaurant where they do everything well. Highly recommended.
Hands down one of the best restaurants we have ever been too. This is our 3rd visit now and last night was an improvement on the previous 2 visits purely because of the experience we booked. The Chefs Table experience with paired wines was an absolute triumph and Simon their in-house Sommelier nailed it with each course that had been painstakingly put together by head Chef and owner Nick and his kitchen team. The ambience, the open kitchen, the vibe, the team are all just so in tune and it’s reflected in everything that’s out on the table. A massive thank you to one and all for making our visit to Bendigo that little bit special. Looking forward to our next visit soon.
I have to say this has been incredible dining experience. We could not fault anything, from our entrees to desserts were nothing less than perfection. In this Modern Aussie dining experience with a touch of Middle Eastern influences, owners are changing menu every week. It's such relaxing ambience. And what I value there is no hurry, fuss  or pushing.....all time dedicated for you to get you to enjoy your dinning experience with every single dish well explained in details. Our dinner has laste 2,5  hours and it was purely enjoyment. Staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Outstanding meal and wonderful service. Highly recommend.
A real dining experience. Great food, service and the Wild Duck Creek Cab. Sav. wine was exceptional. We were so fortunate to eat at this acclaimed resturant, and will come back again, on our next visit.
Everything you could ever want in a wonderful dining experience. Their service was top notch by all staff, and the food was out of this world. They prepared five amazing vegan dishes that was just the right amount, with textures and flavors so devine. The ambience was great, not noisy, or cramped, just right. We will definitely visit again one day when we are in town again.
Nice food, great service and nice ambience. Overall the dishes were quite tasty as they were. My favourite dish of the night would probably be the zucchini flower due to the nice combination of flavours and textures or the oyster blade due to the tenderness of the beef and crisp pannise, and my least favourite dish of the night would be the duck dumplings due to, what I felt, not having much of a duck flavour, but instead a strong flavour that came through that tasted similar to xiao xing wine not 100% sure if it was or not, which clashed with the Thai red curry flavour. An interesting observation I noticed was each dish had very similar, linear plating with the main element covered by the garnish. Overall very happy dining.

Husband and wife duo Nick and Sonia’s focus is to showcase the exceptional local produce of Central Victoria with a paddock-to-plate ethos. It is fine-dining yet still casual and comfortable. They have set Chefs Selection Roaming menus for lunch $63 and dinner $95 which continuously evolve with the seasons and producers’ availability. Optional wine pairing $50 is also available. The entire drinks list is also local-focused, with an emphasis on the major Central Victorian wine regions of Bendigo, Heathcote, Goulburn Valley, Upper Goulburn and the Strathbogie Ranges. Course after course we were so impressed, everything on the plate had a place and a purpose, with textures and flavours on point. There’s nothing more I love than a well thought out menu. The Arancini hidden under the linseed crackers were amazing, we could’ve had 10 of them. The Potato Hash and Pastrami was a party in my mouth. My favourite was the Pork Shoulder, so moist yet with the crispy outer. There was however a noticable inconsistency in size of the pork between our dishes. The Lamb was so good and loved the pores Zucchini Flower. The Beef Cheek dish was more Asian inspired than the rest of the courses and although tasty, the strong flavours distracted too much from the beef. The Gingerbread Icecream was delicious but the rest of dessert lacked sweetness. Masons of Bendigo has absolutely everything you want in a restaurant, a beautiful fitout, quality produce, inventiveness and great service. Pick someone you love to spend time with because it averaged around 2 dishes an hour, to a total of 3 hours. A bit long, but we will be back! 4.5/5
