Story

The Masonic Hotel, Waitara is a newly renovated hotel which was opened in July 1880. Waitara is located just off State Highway 3, 15 km northeast of New Plymouth.
We are just a stone throw away from the Waitara River and the esplanade walk to Marine Parade Waitara Beach.

The Hotel features 8 rooms – 6 King bed rooms which can be converted to singles, and 1 Queen size bedroom and one triple room.. All the rooms have ensuites with flat screen TVs, coffee & tea making facilities, luxury bed linen and pillows, bathroom amenities and wireless internet. We welcome children and have fold away beds that can be added to most rooms.

Very nice room. Simple deco. Comfortable bed and the shower was awesome. Service team were great. Remember though when you stay at a hotel expect abit of late night entertainment.
Comfortable bed, great water pressure and central for events in Waitara.nI did take my concerns to the manager and was apologized to but she also said most of the issues weren't their fault and couldn't be helped.nUnfortunately there were a few negatives , we found a used condom in they newly cleaned room, Room 4 over looking main Road, Tea cup stuck to saucer stuck to tray with old milk maybe? Didn't think about the noise from being above the pub with Karaoke it was very loud. Road noise was also loud. No sound proofing. Bathroom or drains smelt of urine a bit unpleasant. Carpets need a clean at least and curtains a few hooks until replacements done. Other guests or residents were very loud when shutting door at 6am..
My partner & I visited this establishment for the weekend last weekend, the rooms were beautifully presented, beds were very comfortable, room serviced daily. The most amazing managers you could wish for, super friendly and helpful, would definitely stay there again if in the area. Only disappointing thing that there were no meal available only bar snacks, but these were the best of value and very tasty. Thanks ladies for looking after us,
Lovely Town of Waitara - Masonic Hotel has History as the Town has, with friendly helpful Staff and Customers Pool table, good food and Accommodation. Recommend a Visit.
Such an awful stay, if you value your peace during the holidays do not book this place. The shower curtain was dirty and the toilet was not cleaned properly, the room was clean though. We did not mind these but the night band music literally ruined our night so loud as you are in concert we could not sleep the whole night as the band finished playing music at 11:05 pm and still lots of noise people charting could be heard. The fist night again people chatting loudly we could hear them . I wish during booking they would say that they will have really loud nights so we wouldn’t book and ruin our holiday. I am writing this review while people are fighting in their downstair after the band music . Terrible stay.
