Absolutely loved our trip on the Mary Valley Rattler! It honestly felt like stepping right back in time.nnThe heritage train is beautifully maintained, and chugging through the scenic valley was just gorgeous.nWhat really made the day special were the volunteers—they are super friendly, full of great stories, and clearly love what they do.nDefinitely recommend booking your tickets online in advance so you don't miss out.nSuch a brilliant and relaxing day out!
An awesome relaxing and informative experience. Perfect for all ages. Volunteer staff are amazing ambassadors. Everyone smiling while appreciating the views, commentary and locals waving to us as we railed pass their homes and properties.nStrongly recommend
A special slice of history awaits you on the Mary Valley Rattler. It was a wonderful way to spend a morning in Gympie and to learn about the history of the railway and the towns of Gympie and Amamour. From the moment you arrive at the old Gympie Railway Station, you step into yesteryear. The piano player in the cafe, the period signage and once you begin the journey, the volunteers share their knowledge with you along the way. The audio was loud and clear and we learnt about the old traditions that are still so important today. We also learnt about the Diablo ginger beer, the ginger plants being cultivated in the fields across from the railway. It was a real treat. Thank you.
We had THE BEST day out today on the Silver Bullet High Tea Train. Lovely people looking out for you we loved John, and a really nice morning tea. Having a glass of bubbles or two made it pretty special. We would highly recommend.
Did the tour today, really enjoyed it. Plenty of comfortable seating and our carriage attendant John was awesome. He was full of interesting facts and entertaining to listen to. The steam engine rumbles along at around 25-30kph giving ample time to look at the countryside as it passes by. The turnaround stop in amamoor is around 50min where you can stretch your legs and get a close up view of the locomotive while they move it onto the turntable so that it can pull the carriages back to gympie.
