Reviews
For over a decade, I have had the privilege of relying on the invaluable services of Manly Library, which has profoundly enriched my life in myriad ways. The exceptional support I have received has been transformative, particularly during the six to seven years I represented myself in Family Court, a disclosure I make transparently for a compelling reason. Manly Library became my workspace, and the staff’s unwavering assistance, ranging from practical help with scanning and printing to crucial emotional support, converting documents to PDF and back again, was instrumental in navigating some of the most challenging phases of my life.nnIt is important to acknowledge that patrons of this library seek refuge for far more than just academic pursuits; the library serves as a vital community hub, offering so much more than conventional study spaces.nnI wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to a few exceptional individuals, and I apologize to anyone I may inadvertently overlook: Maria, whose dedication and support have been invaluable throughout my journey, and whose accent never fails to make me smile; speaking of smiles, Vicky formerly of Manly Library, now at Dee Why Library, whose smile, impeccable fashion sense, and unwavering support consistently brightened my days; Mary, who tirelessly goes above and beyond to provide assistance with remarkable efficiency; and Lea, who recently aided me in navigating a critical legal deadline. I must also commend Nathan at Warringah Mall Library, whose timely support and boundless patience on a Saturday were truly invaluable in another matter of importance. Thank you!nnThe role of a local library in our community is indispensable. I implore the NSW Government to reconsider any impending job and funding cuts that threaten to undermine these essential resources. Without the exceptional services of Manly Library and the dedication of its extraordinary staff, many - including myself - would have faced insurmountable difficulties in securing the support, refuge, and even a sense of belonging that we desperately require when faced with challenging and tumultuous times.nnThis review and advocacy serves not only as an acknowledgment of the vital role libraries play, but also as a heartfelt appeal for their continued existence as cornerstones of our community.
A free service provided by the council which is awesome. The staff is very nice. Many services are offered. The app is very useful and makes your life easier to renew, pre book or find a book. You can find books but also magazines, audio book, CD and DVD.nNew books are quite sparse and not many best sellers.
I only visited one of the meeting rooms but it was great. Separate air conditioning control. A bit small but comfortable for 10 people
First time going to this library today for rhyme time and they wouldn't let me in because I was a few minutes late! I understand it is best to arrive on time but I'd travelled on the bus with my baby and toddler and left home over an hour and 45 mins earlier to make it there. My toddler had been excited the whole way there. I can't believe that us walking in during 'hot potato' would have been that disruptive to the overall experience. I normally go to the Mall and parents and toddlers are always going in and out because that's what toddlers do!nHonestly, I walked around the corner and cried in the playground on the corso at the complete lack of empathy
Great community library. Offers monthly activity for local elders, such as knitting session.
