Story

Welcome to Mackay GP Superclinic, where we pride ourselves on excellence in care and attention to each every one of our valued patients.

We welcome new patients and offer a complete range of services from immunisations, regular health checks for the whole family to coal board medicals.

We aim to ensure our patients feel safe and secure at all times and encourage you to ask any questions you feel relevant during your appointment.

Our standard consultation time is 10 minutes, if you feel you may need longer than this, please inform our reception team when making your appointment.

The Mackay GP Superclinic has been the dream for local general practitioner, Dr John McIntosh for approximately 5 years and now after years of planning it has finally come to fruition. The Superclinic was the first in Australia to be set up with no government funding or support and provides quality services for new GPs and allied health professionals, which is vital in ensuring they stay and work within our region.

The Superclinic houses 12 consulting rooms, accident and emergency department, aesthetic and beauty, pharmacy, chiropractor, dentist, dieticians, pathology, physiotherapy, psychology, naturopathy, colonic cleansing, homeopathy, occupational health services and skin cancer clinic. After-hours and weekend services, guaranteed same-day GP consultations and a range of allied health professionals offer much needed additional primary care services to its patients.

The clinic also boasts a relaxing lounge with coffee bar where patients and visitors are encouraged to relax with a coffee whilst waiting to see their doctor. The most important feature of the super clinic is the patients comfort and ambience of the place and this has certainly been achieved with this first class facility. It is envisaged that in the very near future, patients will have access to arrange online bookings; iPads for entering personal data, which in turn will speed up processing and reduce waiting times.

Mackay has raised the bar on health care standards and can be justifiably proud of this facility and it is hoped that the general public will come along on the day to show their support and enjoy the festivities that are being offered.
