"From the age of 6 I remember watching my father and uncle break down a cow to feed 11 hungry children 5 brothers and 5 sisters and I prayed that I would never have to do that and find a real job!The “real Job” lasted about 6 years of my professional career and my obsession with fine produce started just over 20 years ago. These people do a fantastic steak. Juicy and succulent and everything in between. Burger was great! Pasta was also great! Delicious cocktail! Excellent customer service with all staff extremely helpful, friendly and great communication in terms of wait times with food. Highly recommended!
Straight forward but quite a big menu, definitely something for someone type of place. Price is a bit steep for us for what it is, as nothing comes with any sides/sauces, and those and add ons, but still delicious and filling. The burgers were a better deal than the steaks, but considering how many restaurants are around, we might not come back.
From the moment I walked through the door I felt welcomed, the wait staff were attentive and friendly. Their timing of everything throughout my experience was spot on. From seating to ordering to food delivery, table water and drinks. Perfect. I had the Angus eye fillet, medium and roast vegetables and red wine sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection. Tender, moist and full of flavour. The roast vegetables were the perfect compliment for this steak with a dab of the red wine sauce. Every mouthful was splendid. So far the best steak I have had in Sydney. I grow my own Beef so to come across someone who shares the same passion of quality meat as I do is refreshing. I have removed one star for one reason. If I could make one recommendation it would be do away with the serrated knives. My personal preference is to cut the meat rather than tear it. All in all though this dining experience was top notch and I will definitely be back again. Love your idea, love your work and love how it is all coming together for you.
Ordered the eye fillet and scotch fillet steak both medium rare. Delicious! Next time, I think I'll go for rare cos I mostly prefer it that way. The retro burger was also decent. Many alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to choose from too. Chips were about as good as you can expect from a restaurant in Sydney.Food: 5/5
A really good modern and casual butcher-restaurant with some simple and honest food prepared really well. The menu has an emphasis on meat dishes, from which we tried an Angus rib-eye cutlet and pork ribs - both were satisfying and full of flavour. The sides we ordered were also great - the fries were crispy and well seasoned, the mash was very smooth and buttery. Recommended for non-fancy food that's simply delicious.
I held my 31st BD lunch here. This is a spacious restaurant where you can easily fit dozens of people. They serve a wide range of foods here, including steak, pasta, burgers, and more. The steak is generally of a high standard, and I recommend you to order a level rarer here e.g., order medium rare if you usually have medium. If you are after something served big at a low price, pasta and burgers are for you. They also have a butchery so you can take some meat to go.
Fantastic food, great selection of beverages and great atmosphere! Steaks are spot on whether you like it medium or medium rare, they know their meat Try out the slowed cooked wagyu beef or pasta if you want something different... and if you still have room for dessert after the feast then try out their dessert menu, it will not disappoint!
Macelleria in Newtown has got to be one of the best places a Meat lover could possibly go for a night out with Friends or Family, the Food is absolutely Spectacular! With a huge range of Meat to select from, with its own in house butcher, you can't go wrong.. The atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly and the Meat is cooked to absolute perfection! I Highly Recommend Macelleria in Newtown.
The atmosphere is good, service is ok and the food steak is delicious. The restaurant is quite big, the space between each table is wide. You can choose your steak at the meat counter and they also have a cake / dessert counter too.Food: 4/5
It really looks like a butcher! I like it. They show you the cuts of meat at the front of the restaurant, and you can peruse the goods before you purchase your dinner. There seems to be an emphasis on bookings rather than walk-ins. We came in just before 6pm and there were plenty of tables but it seemed like they were mostly reserved beforehand. Probably best to book. The pork ribs were great! That bbq sauce was divine. I could get that again. The Wagyu beef sausages were fine but nothing special. The prices were pretty good given the prime location and the high quality produce.
