I'm not into gourmet things such as burgers or whatever and I really wasn't sure what I was going to get. So I ordered the most basic burger to see what this place was all about. It was delicious and not so big that I couldn't eat it with my hands. The bun, pattie and sauce were delicious. Washed down with a coke. Staff were friendly as well. I'm certainly going to try one of their other offerings soon. Only 4 stars until I taste the other menu items but today's burger was at least a 9/10.
The BB avocado burger was very nice, decent bread and well made, the avocado was nice and lended well to favour. The sides may have been a bit over priced but the onion rings and mini hash browns were cooked well and very tasty.
The burger was huge and can taste the quality of the beef. Can also find NZ famous beverage,L&P, in store.
I had been coming here for years but have recently stopped. Frankly the meat in the burgers just doesn't taste good any more. Way too greasy too, the bun ends up very soggy. Decently priced for Newtown and the service is always quick and friendly, but on numerous occasions I've finished my meal feeling unsatisfied. And something really needs to be done about the fries, they've been bland since the place was called Burger Fuel. Anyway I hope the owner takes this advice to heart because I do miss coming here.
I would recommend this place. The burgers we had were very tasty, as were the sweet potato fries with aioli. And the chocolate thick shake was just right, cold and thick but not too thick with a delicious chocolate taste. The service was very friendly and efficient too.
Not the best burgers. The painkiller was drowned in aioli, it didn’t have any lettuce or tomato so there was nothing to cut through the fatty taste of the patty. However, the sweet potato fries were delicious.
This place use to be great but my last experience here was piss pour! The chips used to be crispy but are now a soggy mess. There were already minimal veggie burger options which now aren’t even any good. The Hausman mushroom was dismal, with a wet mushroom slapped in as a crappy excuse for a patty. By far I could not recommend anything less than the thickshakes. It’s hardly even an attempt at a milkshake, just milk that mildy resembled the flavour of strawberry. It’s a real pity cause I used to love this place but I don’t see it lasting much longer with quality of goods they are churning out.
Had a lettuce wrap burger. Super yummy. Kids special was great...8 bucks for burger chips and a small juice. They love mayo at this place and I'm down with that.
Same menu as its predecessor burger fuel, but seems to have lost some of the flavor potentially. Chips and aioli remains great but burgers feel a bit processed now compared to other Newtown offerings.
Reasonably nice burger place. Burgers are quite large and I wore a chunk of said burger on my shorts for the effort.. Much better places to eat at in Newtown. But if your in a hurry it's OK..
