Poor staff attitude, no empathy, discrimination. Went to DFO moorabbin store and brought a $79 shirt and $79.95 tie for a wedding and was told a ”DO NOT open" policy. After trying on the first and the only fitting shirt, they gave me the actual shirt. Lucky I managed to open and try because it was the wrong size. After being lectured again about the policy, I paid for the items and went home and found out one of the sleeves was ripped. Went back to store next day to try to swap. Rather that showing basic empathy for me sacrificing work hours and driving 50km to the store because I really needed the shirt, I was told poor attitude for dropping the shirt on the table by the store manager. So you first step of conflict resolution is pointing finger at the customer for being frustrated because this could be avoid if I am allowed to open and inspect the item that I am about to buy? What about all the inconvenience and time wasted. The store manager then said "no one asked you to come to the store, you could call first and see what we can do". So there is a quicker way to get the shirt I needed than going to the store?? Feel like the whole time I was in the store, I was being looked down because I was wearing a hoodie and pair of jeans on a Sunday or because my skin color? Who knows.
