It is the Icon of Sydney entertaiment park.nSpend whole day here to experience the games and activities.nMy children love to go here. My parent and older people also love to come to the Luna Park.nIt is not required to buy a ticket for entry. You only buy the ticket if you want to participate in the activities.nEnjoy your time with the show during the day.nIt is more than word to express the beauty of the Sydney Opera House overview from Luna park side.
What an amazing day! We’ve been watching Luna Park videos for the last two months to hype us up for our visit and it did not disappoint. Green pass and definitely was a lot of rides to enjoy and 6 year old enjoyed it way too much!nnPerks were the games were easy to win, little man overcame his height fear on the Ferris wheel, the funhouse is still a classic must do and the food was pretty good and got to enjoy a nice public holiday ferry ride there and back. Definitely much quieter than I’d expect for a public holiday.
We visited here recently as I was really keen to ride their rollercoaster. Unfortunately we found out that they do not sell single ride tickets for a majority of the rides. Almost all are included in a ‘day pass’ for $75, which was surprising because the Luna Park in Melbourne does sell single ride tickets.nThe park itself is free to walk around so that was nice to know. Also the staff were really friendly and even explained how you can get the day tickets cheaper if you plan ahead and buy online.nAll up it was a nice way to spend the afternoon and the views are spectacular but we left disappointed, having not wanted to spend so much money for just one or two rides.
Located at 1 Olympic Drive, Milsons Point, New South Wales, Australia nLuna Park is a Heritage Listed Amusement Park on the Northern Shore of the Sydney Harbour. It is one of Sydney’s most famous landmarks. It was constructed during 1935 and was very popular during World War II and the post war period. The park closed mid 1979 after the Ghost Train caught fire killing 6 children and 1 adult. Most of the park was demolished and a new one was constructed. After this construction, the park operated for a brief time as “Harbourside Amusement Park “ before reverting to its original name. The park closed again in 1988 after an inspection revealed that several rides needed urgent repairs. The owners failed to repair the rides and reopen the park before a NSW Government deadline and the ownership of the park was passed to a new body. The park reopened in 1995, but closed yet again within 13 months due to noise complaints about the Big Dipper Rollercoaster from local residents. This led to reduced operating hours and a drop in attendance. For the next 9 years Luna Park only operated sporadically, including charity events and as a filming location. After another redevelopment, it opened again in 2004 and has continued operating ever since.nI have been to Luna Park a few times now, both at day and night time. It’s quite easy to get to by Ferry from Circular Quay. I recommend getting the Unlimited Rides Pass for $75 for adults and $65 for children. There are extra add on options also eg for the games and photos but these are up to the individual. I always have a fantastic time. It’s not a cheap day with the games and the food etc but I still love coming to Luna Park. The park always offers a lot of fun and nostalgia with the vintage rides and the famous, iconic entrance. If you come during the school holidays or weekends, lines can be long so be prepared. The park itself is free to walk around, so that’s great. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Regarding the tickets, if you plan ahead and buy online, you can save money that way. The views over the Sydney Harbour are spectacular. I think if you came with an open mind about costs etc, you won’t be disappointed. It’s always a good idea to plan ahead. Thumbs up from me!
Luna Park is a classic amusement park offering fun and nostalgia with its iconic entrance and vintage rides. Located near Sydney Harbour, the views are as memorable as the attractions. The park features a mix of old-school charm and modern thrills, making it perfect for families and friends. While the rides are enjoyable, lines can be long, especially on weekends. Admission is free, but ride passes can be pricey. Overall, Luna Park is a must-visit for a fun day out with a touch of history and fantastic views.
