The food is good as always but I feel the wait staff was a but if a let down, mainly because of the wait time, it was busy but nothing out of the ordinary for a Sunday night. This place is only restaurant where I've gone and felt a slight awkwardness between my family and the staff and I just didn't know why, maybe the staff was new and nervous. Nevertheless, you go here for the food, and it's very yummy.

So busy. Service extremely slow. Food ok although they I've changed the recipe for their ribs and chicken sauce and it's not as nice as it was before. We asked for the dessert menu and it was bought promptly but then nobody came back and we ended up leaving without any dessert.

Having really enjoyed a visit here a year ago while visiting Christchurch, we decided to return. What a difference a year makes - service was almost non existent. No specials were advised of and the young waitress had no idea what the seasonal Vegas were. After getting the mains 55 minutes later, disappointed that the chicken salad, while looking great, was completely cold including the poached egg. My fillet steak was pretty much cold also . Buffalo chips only hot food on the table. After being interrupted mid sentence by the waiter asking ' you guys want more drinks' we watched him grazing on the jelly beans at the recently vacated next table. I decided that I would give feedback when paying but was unable to as I was never asked so when I went to say something to the lady on the till, I was pretty annoyed when she, at the same time, turned away from me and conversed with a work mate. We have dined at the Lone Star all over the South Island many many times in the last 20 years and one of the main reasons is that the service was always top notch. Far from it this time and so it is unlikely we will ever return to this particular restaurant.

Very welcoming...the service was awesome and our meals were just delishes...I wud go back there again and take my family...Lone Star u haven't disappointed me yet...

Very poor service and wait staff. We placed an order and then they came back saying they did not write the order. Being ignorant must be a key skill to get a job here.
