The banh mi here is the closest to the authentic one so far that I can find. They have a variety of option, including vegan one i think. My favorite is actually the cold meat banh mi as it is close to the one I had in Vietnam. It has bit too much pate and fat but you can ask them to put less. Overall a good place for a quick bite to go.
Orginally gave 5 stars, lowered the rating after visiting multiple times. Today was my first time visiting this place around 9am before going to work. I ordered roast pork bahn mi. It was fast, fresh, delicious. On top of that, the staff members were friendly, which I found impressive for a Sunday morning. I might re-visit tomorrow again for another breakfast An update: I re-visited this place multiple times. There's a huge gap between the order you receive in morning and night. Go in the morning. At night, bahn mi is all dried out.
Looks like a really unassuming corner shop on south yarra. Stacks of baguette waiting to be turned into Bahn Mi. Well I’d say totally worth it. I liked the crispy pork belly one but my partner prefers the braised pork one. All in all really fresh and a really nice snack/lunch/dinner.
I received my roast pork roll in under a minute from ordering and it was warm, crispy, fresh and tasty! For $8.50 it was a great quick option for a potentially healthy meal under $10 with no wait time despite having plenty of orders and I would happily go back again for some more crunchy pork!
Used to be amazing but now it’s just average. Banh mi is hastily thrown together without much care and the bun wasn’t even toasted last time. Still pretty good but there are better options.
I used to like coming here but they’ve become quite petty with the amount of meat they give you.. took me a while just to get to it, and the crispy pork skin is so tough that i had to spit it out
This morning ordered two rolls. One with pork, another one with tofu. Found a piece of blue plastic in my roll. Also, there were only two leaves of coriander, no other herbs and veggies, just a huge amount of tofu and sauce. Not nice at all.
loved this place, especially they use pickled carrots, very refreshing, but I think they give less crispy pork than before lately. Understandable but rather like the previous version.
The bahn mi of your dreams. The baguette is crunchy, the veggies perfectly pickled and the crispy pork is just divine. While I went it was very busy and crowded inside, but we got our take away very quickly. I will definitely come back when I am in the neighbourhood.
Love this for your classic Bahn Mi sandwiches. They also do rice paper rolls and spring rolls. Vegan options available tofu and the crispy pork belly Bahn Mi is a classic. Make sure you accept the fresh chilli option when they ask - these sandwiches are supposed to have some heat! Great place for a quick lunch or takeaway.
