Linden park School Dental Service

I have taken all three of my children here and each time found the clinic to be excellent. One of them came in for a chipped tooth and they dealt with this and also did a general checkup and took preventative care. The staff are pleasant and easy to deal with (even though I forgot my Medicare card!)

They have often confusion with appointment dates with patients. It happened several times to me and my children that they changed my children’s appointment date at their own discretion on their system without letting us know. When the first time it happened they called me while I was driving to ask why I had not taken my children there on the day, which was just any day to me, and kind of blamed me for missing the appointment, which I had had no idea about at the first place. How the hell could you know when you did not inform us of the change??? Anyway I had to book another day replacing the appointment in several months later, which was the earliest though due to their tight schedule. Funny thing is that this happened again. At this time, I had a note to make sure written by a staff member from the clinic clearly saying the appointment date and time for my children. It was obvious information so I looked forward to it as my children’s dental check-up was urgent after missing the first one. Finally, the day came and I took my children to the clinic for the appointment, cancelling all my afternoon schedule even if not that negotiable. When I got there, I became just speechless again to hear that there was no appointment booked for my children on their system. The receptionist told me there were no booking records for my children in the afternoon. I was like ‘are you sure..?’ She, without hearing me, seemed to treat me a liar or weirdo who picks up a fight with anyone for fun. When I showed the note with the very date, time and my children’s name to her, she reluctantly apologised for what happened on their system with an attitude that she was not really sorry at all. She kept telling me that she didn’t do it and she does not know who did it either. That might be true but was not important anyway. I just wished my children could see the doctor on the day as I barely made it through to the appointment with my children. If not, hopefully the receptionist could show her good will on this by organising a new appointment possibly on the same date as early as possible, please, please. That kind of my wish was like an impossible dream in the clinic. My children ended up not seeing the doctor on the day as it was fully booked out, after cancelling my children’s appointments, by other patients. As a result, I had to arrange three separate appointments on three different dates in the middle of school time for each children, which might be challenging again for me to manage. It was the worst case scenario for my family. Besides, it was even more disappointing with irresponsible and unprofessional performance and manners that they showed to my family to the degree that it almost seemed ill mannered. They made the mistake and kept repeating the same thing, then kept finger pointing someone for the mistakes whom they don't even know. It has always been patients and families who pay the price for their mistakes wasting their time, energy and money. However, the dental clinic is not sorry about it and does not show any empathy towards the patients and families. It is just not RIGHT and FAIR!! Hopefully they work properly, not necessarily well, just properly. I don’t even expect them to be kind, but to work just properly if they insist to occupy the position.

Doctors are lovely with kids, all staff there are very patience with the little ones.
