Hokkien mee is too sweet, asam laksa is too salty, Nasi lemak is too simple for its price..the egg & chicken wing serve were super small. The food is generally overpriced and food service took a lot longer than similar restaurants...as Malaysians whom miss the food in Malaysia and go home every year to satisfy that craving, we know what we are comparing against....
I went with a friend the other day! The fried kueh teow was great! The coconut rice was also really good as was the roti! The beef rendang was quite tasty, but it could have been spicier! Definitely a family favourite for some good Malaysian hawker style foods and curries!
The food is average, the atmosphere is bad and when you think it can't get any worse the service is terrible. If you truly want to enjoy a good authentic Malaysian Food why not drive another 5 minutes to Glen Waverley and there is a awesome Malaysian Restaurant next to the train station that served genuine authentic Malaysian food. You don't have to to believe me, you can be the judge by trying it out yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Delighted to see another Malaysian restaurant around the corner from home, the food was average at best. Teh tarik wasn't piping hot and tasted bland. Curry laksa, fried rice and char kway teow were average, nothing to shout about. Prices were above average compared to other better and cheaper Malaysian restaurants
Three of us had a meal and we found that the laksa and Mee Siam quite delicious. However, one of us chose Nasi Lemak which was quite disappointing.. The rice was served with hardly any " laut "" The hard boiled egg looked dry and there was not enough sambal to go with the rice. . We have to think twice before we visit this place again.
Before this restaurant receive their good food review in the newspaper, food portion were reasonably. But after that, food portion has been small and expensive, hence driving away a lot of the old customers. I guess the owner got greedy with the profit. Food still taste pretty good though.
The fried kuey teow and Assam laksa were good however, the teh tarik did not appear to have been "tarik-ed". It had no froth whatsoever. If that is the standard practice then perhaps it should not be advertised as teh tarik but just normal white tea instead? Service was very good ;. Have a good day n thanks.
This place has the most authentic Malaysian food served. Its quaint and hidden away Malaysian paradise.
Fresh kuih desserts only if you are lucky. Mmmm! Yummy! Decent food and cheaper than a nearby competitor.
Menu is nice, Nasi Lemak is pretty good. But a bit pricey.
