Visited this Hotel for the first time last night. Great interior space and very much in the cool vibe of Collingwood. Will come again for sure for happy hour. Don't bother with the app to get your last one before it closes as ours just froze. Go to the bar before it ends. Great selection of beers on tap as you would expect.
I loved everything about Hotel Collingwood, the decor and ambiance was lovely, a great menu and exceptional service. The beer on tap was impressive and there is a beautiful beer garden at the back which is cosy. We shared a number of dishes, each presented and tasted amazing with good quality ingredients. We ordered the Kingfish sashimi, salt & pepper calamari, grilled fish of the day and Black Angus ribeye 350g, all dishes so yum and even better when washed down with a glass of beer!
Had a fantastic time, food was delicious, wasn't that loud and I do love a good QR ordering system One thing I'd like to suggest though, is to install hooks in the female toilet stalls. Its not like its a big issue or anything but its just been a long time since I've been in a bathroom stall and there hasn't been a hook to put my bag lol. Anyway, had a great time and would go again!
We were looking for a restaurant to have lunch and found Hotel Collingwood by chance while walking. It was a good find! Place looks nice and cosy, good for photos. Ordered the parma and steak, both were really good! Service was good as well so I would recommend this place.
The outside looks a bit reserved so it doesn't stand out on the street which isn't a bad thing. Inside is a clean, dimly lit interior with exposed bricks. Tables are spread out so you aren't crammed in. On the Saturday we were there on a Winter's afternoon it wasn't too busy. There is an outside beer garden that's reasonably isolated from the elements with outdoor heating. Staff were friendly, good variety of food and beers. Happy to come here again.
Food was great and there was a good selection of drinks. We had calamari and croquettes for starters and fish and chips and chicken schnitzel. Including a plain chicken for the non-dairy eater. They were accommodating even though they were busy. In saying that their services could have been better. We needed to remind staff about our drinks and food. And waited over an hour for food to be delivered. Once it arrived it was piping hot. Staff were friendly and responsive when we mentioned we hadn't had service.
Liked the ambience of the place. Haven't visited since it was the Robbie Burns pub. New fit out is clean and modern. As the kitchen was very short staffed, we waited quite a long time for our food, which came out in bursts, rather than at similar times. We were celebrating a birthday so there were 15 of us. However, the waiter was extremely apologetic, and even gave us a free drink each while we waited. When our food arrived, it was excellent. I had Barramundi and it was yummy. Chicken parmigiana was popular- 5 of us ordered that- and it looked delicious too. We'll definitely go again, as even though service was slow, we had a lovely time. Goes to show how friendly staff, who explain the situation can alleviate stress. Drinks by the glass could be more extensive. Not everyone wants a bottle. Only one in each section were available by the glass. The rose was very good.
Used to like the old Spanish place. Now catering to young footy crowd, don’t appreciate sitting in the outdoor area blasted by the TV in one direction and footy fans on the other side. Food was fine as were the drinks, so all good but won’t be back, it has lost the reason for going. Obviously another pub for the footy crowd.
Very spacious and plenty of drinks and food. They even had pub meal specials on Thursday which have vegan burger on the menu. You got to get there early if you want these. We were starving when we reached Robert Burns Hotel and we were fed surprisingly well on a Thursday night where most of the rest of the establishments around refused as they were closing down there kitchen earlier than usual. James on the phone let us know we can be there few minutes before kitchen closing time and we will be okay. His service was fantastic song with his colleagues. There was a bar man who was funny only remember his Nick name which is not appropriate to post here. Will certainly be back!
Meal was very average. Collingwood Burger could have been more bespoke with homemade relish etc. Felt like a takeaway burger rather than something to savour. Service unfriendly and inattentive.
