We had a stag do there and it was AWESOME!! The staff went above and beyond, really friendly and definitely up for the occasion!! 5 stars is an understatement as the experience was more like a 10 and I would definitely recommend Lava bar and grill
I do not recommend this place. Next to a hostel, but very far from a good and enjoyable bar... The communication skills of the guards are like no other... but not in the right way... They try to act like Gods. Ha ha ha. I feel sorry for the poor "guests" who want to drink here.
We had a great night with my bro. Drinks and foods was good too but fake homeless racket you after the club close.. They might be carefull for their reputation
Love lava bar...fantastic staff, atmosphere, awesome meals too. Always love the fun nights and events they put on. Definitely great night out.

We paid an entry fee just to be asked to leave while sitting on the couch. We bought drinks, danced a few songs, and moved to a couch to have a conversation. We weren't causing any trouble, we had paid the entry fee, and we'd bought drinks. Genuinely don't understand why we were asked to leave. We won't return.
Potentially the worst place in Rotorua, duty manager and security were rude to vip guests. Never again wouldn’t recommend touching with a 10 foot barge pole.
