Story

Lalor Secondary College is a co-educational school that has, since 1963, provided the communities of Lalor and nearby Epping and Thomastown with educational experiences that prepare students for their chosen pathways, be it tertiary study, trade or work. Our school's mission is to provide programs that allow opportunities for our students to improve their capacity to be and become responsible and socially aware members of the community as well as provide extensive possibilities for their futures. The school's core values of Pride, Achievement, Caring, Cooperation and Honesty are embedded within our welfare and teaching practice. The College provides a caring and supportive learning environment with a curriculum and student well-being program that prepares students for life in a global world of the 21st century. We have approximately 45 nationalities amongst our students, producing a culturally and linguistically diverse group of learners.

This school has been a very negative experience. Many of the girls are rude and seem to have something against people, while the boys act strangely. There's a lot of vaping and bullying, fights and the staff don't seem to care. The teachers are often on their phones during class, don’t teach effectively, and rarely provide grades or feedback on tests. They don't take bullying seriously, which only makes things worse. Overall, it's a very unpleasant environment. They don’t care about your wellbeing and the ladies front office tend to be very rude from my experience. There are no heaters in the rooms that don’t even work and children are very cold while the teachers can have their coats and everything while the students are cold and have to take their jacket off just because of a fact or just sitting in your laptop. There is also a lot of unnecessary things taught here such as music and languages, which is very boring and they should be teaching better. The teachers don’t care and are always on their phones texting and taking phone calls and very disrespectful. Overall 1/10 don’t bring you’re kids here
Students are bad. And Teachers are close to average. Overall, Meh. The teachers laughed at my face once for not handing in a consent form. Says a lot about the school. 5 stars because the school might drop a big hint to where i live.....
This school ong sucks so bad, i would rather go to lalor north fr because the things i have witnessed has made my therapist a billionaire. And also, these teachers are bloody stupid because why are they ong walking up to me during my time, and also, get better at teaching because i dont know anything ive learnt ever i swear to god. send your kids to literally anywhere else mwah.
TL/DR: This school tries it’s hardest to be a private school with some quite horrible students. Rules are strict yet barely enforced, and the quality of education at LSC has been at a steep decline for the past few years. Students are horrible. 2/5 for the poor attempt at running a school, incredibly toxic environment and general lack of care. I was a student at this school for several years, and compared to other schools I have been to, this one was considerably bad. The environment of the school is quite shoddy, the school lacks any care when it comes to heating and cooling, with buildings that are heavily outdated. Several learning appliances such as projectors or screens for learning are broken and worn to the point to classroom interruption. The education quality of the school was decent back around 2021, however due to several teacher layoffs and disrupted learning, the school has become a liability within Victoria’s education system. Teachers that were able to keep learning fun and interesting have now left LSC, and since then the school has been in a constant decline of education quality. The uniform and rules enforced can be boiled down to quite silly. It really paints a picture of how badly the school has tried to mimic SMC with the uniform the school tries to enforce, in which the school had enforced a seasonal uniform policy. The rules of the school are relatively standard apart for a few outliers, such as a rule in the uniform policy causing students to receive detentions for not wearing the correct uniform *WHEN TRAVELLING TO AND FROM SCHOOL*. The school is also so strict about changing these policies, evident by the fact that a student had to get signatures from almost half the school and then had to still sell the idea to the school’s committees to simply change the previous seasonal policy which was causing issues related to students overheating and freezing because Victoria doesn’t know how seasons work. And finally, the students. Oh god the students. LSC’s student demographic is, unfortunately, some of the most troublesome kids within Victoria. To my displeasure, there was a lot of hate speech and violence between students, especially towards LGBT communities, differing ethnic groups and differing religious groups. As of such, the school grounds are often reminiscent of bomb sites, and the school is definitely not a safe space. Hopefully these things change within future years, as the completion of the new gym hall and classroom buildings are set to complete towards the end of 2024.

Worst school ever. The teachers don’t care about you and the school is too strict on stupid things such as uniform. To many unnecessary things taught like music. Teachers constantly tell students to take their jackets because of this “scientific fact” that has never been proved to be true and the students will be cold in the classroom and the teachers get to wear their jackets. Disappointing that the girls didn’t have pants until last year and next year there is going to be shorts for girls. Should do something about the summer dress it goes up on a windy day and everyone sees your bloomers. Honestly I would have preferred to go lalor north if I knew what the school was like. Teachers should also not keep back students who have done nothing wrong *cough ms stav cough*
Food was great. Excellent school except for Khaled. He makes fun of my footy team. But either way I think the teachers were exquisite and they taught me goooooooooood.
When I first came into this school I was really excited coz it was my first HS. Now I'm Diamond 1 in Siege. Send prayers
