Story

Lake Placid Tourist Park, a member of Top Tourist Parks, is set amongst 14 acres of tropical rainforest. Offering caravan and tent sites as well as budget or luxury cabins we have the perfect holiday accommodation for any type of traveller. The park is adjacent to the cool, crystal clear waters of Lake Placid (at the base of the world heritage area of the Barron River Gorge National Park). Located near Cairns city, the park is central to the main tourist attractions such as Skyrail, the Kuranda Scenic Railway and northern beaches, and is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday (pets are welcome too).

Stayed here for a few nights after relocating from interstate and waiting for a rental to be available. Great self contained cabins with everything you could possibly need. Laundry area was spotless when we went to do some loads and reception happy to swap notes for coins. Beautiful forest surroundings and a stone's throw from the Barron river. Would definitely recommend.
Stayed here a couple of times for a week or so each time.nYes it’s a little way out from the city centre but not far.nIt’s tranquil, it’s got a decent pool and communal kitchens, the bathrooms are immaculate!nStaff here are super friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back.nIt does sort of feel more appropriate for older crew or families who are off doing something most days. Not much for the kids to do, but safe, quiet and clean. Couldn’t ask for much better, well priced and all very fair.
I phoned the office to inquire about weekly accomadtion and prices, staff member was very rude and ended the phone call with a grunt whilst saying $121 a night when I simply asked how much the room was for seven nights accommodation.nThink I'd rather give myoney to some one who actually cares about there customers and hopefully show the same respect to the establishment they work at.
Loved the place. Stayed a week. Plenty to do around Cairns. Very clean ablution block. Great cafe only open certain days in the off season.
