This is my favourite dessert place. You can choose any cake and they will cut as much or as little you want, price is regulated based on weight. Is there any other place doing this? I dont think so. And I cant forget about the actual Kurtosh - Hungarian chimney cake made of dough, baked over fire and topped with your favourite topping. So delicious. They are open from morning till late evening so perfect to grab a sweet treat anytime. Big recommend!
They have tasty cakes and croissants. This is the raspberry croissant and the raspberry cheesecake. Had their kurtosh before and they're really nice. Cakes a bit on the pricier side at $6.5 per 100g. Haven't been here in a while due to having some bad experiences last year but everyone was really nice this time
Love kurtosh been coming back here for their wide range of delicious cake slabs. But the other day was the first time having their signature chimney cake! Crispy caramelised flaky outer layer, with soft inner walls, soft tender pull that falls apart with ease. That day we watched the process of how it was made from the kneading of the dough to the torching of the sugar and coating of hazelnut. The dough effortlessly coils around the rolling pin ready to be baked to sweet golden goodness. It’s hard not walk past and get a whiff of the sweet pastry smell. The staff were so friendly and accomodating, prompt service and very clean with with their processes. My personal opinion is to get a cinnamon scroll with Nutella middle, the perfect sweetness. However if you have a severe sweet tooth go for the loaded toppings with the choice of hazelnut and pistachio with the Nutella centre just be mindful that there is an extra layer of caramelisation to keep the topping on. My go to cake slab is always a cheesecake and this raspberry cheesecake was just divine! Sweet however tinge of tartness and sourness from the raspberry creates the perfect balance ! If you don’t have much of a sweet tooth they have some savoury pastries to!
I love Kurtosh! Perfect for dessert or a hot chocolate and cake in the afternoon. I personally love the baked cheesecake, babka, and chimney cakes. But honestly, I wish I could try them all!
What a nice chill cafe for a hot drink and cake. Stopped here as I was early for a movie and really like that they’re open late close at 10. Really convenient if you want to have a hot drink late instead of a bar. They’ve got a nice selection of cakes too and the atmosphere is chill.
First saw kurtosh or chimney cakes in the markets of Budapest & Prague years ago and was fascinated by them. Tried the nutella kurtosh here for the first time and it was divine. Crispy and flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. Just wanted to add that the girl who made our kurtosh was friendly and warm. Thank you! Brings back great memories of Europe.
The cakes are nice and reasonable. Price is ok, and the store is nicely designed and has a comfy atmosphere to eat at.
We visit this place time to time and the experience has been alright. But today we went to bought a piece of apricot tea cake as my pregnant wife was craving for some sweets and by the time we got home 20 min drive, we noticed the cake has got moulds on it.
One of the best desserts in Sydney. They have amazing ambience which feels very homely. Their hot chocolate, tiramisu and red Velvet cake is incredible. If you haven't tried Kurtosh yet, you are missing out!
If you are ever feeling nostalgic for traditional European pastries and cakes, Kürtósh will transport you to an old town medieval city with its tasty treats. Kürtósh is especially famous for their Chimney Cakes which are all handmade in front of you and take about ten minutes to make. They also have a variety of slab cakes which they sell per piece and are priced by weight. You can also get hot beverages to go.
