Beautiful location. Great service. Staff are helpful. If you're downwind while they are cooking outside its going to suck if you're heating water for your 2 minute noodles because the food smells fantastic. My two whinges are people who slam the toilet doors at night, heavy metal doors hitting a metal frame is enough to wake the whole camp and if you're down the managers quarters end you will hear the generator and some kind of compressor kicking in and out all night long, especially on a calm night.
We were working in the area and had quite the experience. If you enjoy falling asleep to the dulcet tones of extremely loud neighbors until 11 PM, this is your spot. And let's not forget the food: overpriced and served in portions that would make a toddler hungry. But hey, the scenery is absolutely stunning, one of a kind, and the folks running the place know it all too well. Don't come expecting top-notch service or reliable showers. We stayed in the quad tents, which offered a warm welcome from the local mosquito population. On the bright side, the other visitors to this nature park were all friendly and helpful. One word of caution: stick to the 10 km speed limit. I found myself nearly booted out for cruising at a daring 30 km/h outside the campgrounds. Trust me, you don’t want the dressing down that comes with that infraction.
Such a nice place! A little on the expensive side but is to be expected when you’re literally in the middle of no where. Friendly staff and the rules are actually enforced. Well done to the manager controlling speed limits and disorderly behaviour especially when there are kids and wildlife around. Definitely appreciate this place for what it is, a natural getaway, not an ordinary rowdy campsite! Respect goes both ways and management has shown that to us. Will be back !
This retreat is clearly more focused on the glamping than the actual campgrounds. I expected the campground toilets /shower to be basic and dirty due to the remote location - and it was. That's fine. However I also expected enough toilets, and soap, and toilet paper. There wasn't enough of any of these. Our loop had 2 toilets, only one had soap and it ran out of toilet paper every day because people want to be hygienic and were choosing the toilet with soap! I expected the waits for the shower - I assume this is purposeful to put pressure on people to have short showers because there is a queue of people waiting. But inadequate toilet facilities are unacceptable anywhere. There needs to be soap and toilet paper and at least one more toilet per loop. People waiting to use the toilet can't necessarily "just wait" like they can for a shower. While we were there most sites only had 2 people per site, I'd hate to see school holidays when lots more kids are there and therefore more demand on the facilities. The only reason you stay is the location, which is sad to say, because it really wouldn't take much to improve these issues.
Had an amazing time at Karijini Eco Retreat on a recent trip. The accommodation blends so well with it's natural surroundings, and I especially loved having solar power and solar hot water available! Really enjoyed how the place keeps light pollution low and reduces waste where possible. Truly makes for such a peaceful and clean camp. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful escape to nature!
We stayed 2 nights in one of the eco tents with toilet and it was fabulous. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable, the food at the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced - good portion sizes too. Karijini is stunning so the location is always a winner. The staff were fantastic, it’s lovely to be greeted with a smile and some chat and the team all seemed to enjoy working there. We ordered packed lunches for our days in the park and they were fab. Would definitely recommend this if like us your outback camping days are over…
It's a beautiful spot, and the campsites are spacious. The facilities are basic but well looked after. The main downside is the staff. Luckily, we didn't have much to do with them, but they were a bit odd. The reception staff were a bit clueless, and the two blokes presumably maintenance patrolling in their ute just seemed weird. They like to look at you a bit too closely and make strange comments. Nearby activities: Gorge walks.
This was a beautiful retreat in an incredible natural landscape. We expected camping with drop toilets but were also surprised by a bar, a small kiosk with ice creams delightful in the desert heat, a whole restaurant as well as takeaway options, all accessible even if you're staying in your own tent. Great base to explore Karajini out of.
You basically have no choice in the middle of nowhere. What we really enjoyed was the delux tent. A huge tent contains everything you need. A shower, toilet, that's luxurious in the outback. If you see anyone complaining about "no real window, not covered shower room," those are snowflakes and just shouldn't go exploring the outback. The restaurant was impressive. Experienced chief and equipment made us the most exquisite dining experience ever. Pork belly was second to none. Beef, I'd skip it. It's not tender enough, probably because of the cut, not cooking skills. Be reminded that everything here is expensive, like proportional to the distance to Perth. But things being expensive is not their problem, it's yours lol. Noteworthy details: Almost no mobile reception. Reception of 4G was intermittent.
I came for the burgers wich where very good , but the unpowered campsite for 44 auf is too expensive for what it actually is . Especially when you stayed 3 nights at the Dales campground for pretty much the same price . The big plus you have a bar/ dining area. But still i expected more for 44 aud / night unpowered . Food & drinks: Burgers are very good . Coffee also good
