I LOVE IT!!! truly a secret spot and just a very very special place. there are barely other people so its nice and quiet plus you have a beautiful view of rangitoto and a big swing under the trees. take yourself and your favorite book there and the day is yours :

Lovely secluded beach. Traffic free - no road access, a steep path to get there but worth it. Tidal so need to go near high tide for swimming.

Just discovered Karaka Bay this year its a perfect place to swim when the tide is in. it gets deep as soon as you get into the water. It is literally 5mins away from Mission bay minus all of the people. It is a bit of a steep walk down a paved path but if your able you'll be fine I do suggest to pack light.

Nice little bay quiet and easy to take your kids
