Wow had an amazing Christmas Day 2022 family meal, the pub was beautifully decorated , warm and welcoming. Staff and management couldn’t be more accommodating and a credit to the new refurbished pub chain. With crackers on the table and festive music playing added to the busy atmosphere. The food was presented professionally and full of Christmassy flavours. I would highly recommend and will be returning in the New Year 2023. We had booked lunch for 15 following my dad's funeral, then turned up and said there were 20 of us. Nothing was too much trouble. We had this lovely section, which worked really well. The food was great - standard pub fayre. The staff were friendly and looked after us all, making a nice family occasion.
First time visiting and could not fault at all. Arrived without a booking and was seated quickly, the gentleman who served us asked about any allergies or intolerances, which unfortunately applied to me having only recently finding out. He directed me to the Marstons website where you can check the allergy info, and then filter your allergies or intolerances which then show you what meals you can have. Being new to this, I had never heard of it before and was completely surprised how easy and informative it was. Our drinks were ordered and served quickly, for the food I had prawn cocktail, mains rotisserie chicken and cheesecake pudding. My brother had the tomato soup, mains chicken kebab and two chocolate dome puddings. The food was absolutely spot on throughout and the service was amazing. I had unfortunately received some bad news earlier in the day, and this visit really did lift my spirits. Very much looking forward to visiting again in the future
Not overly impressed at all by our experience. We walked in and stood by the wait to be seated area, to be told the lady would be with us shortly. She then walked off after giving someone their food and played with the other waiter and what id assume is the manager. Oh and then she decided to seat us. It took 20 mins to get our starters - prawn cocktails, must've gone to fish for them themselves. That was OK. However, my main was disappointing. The flatbread was stale, the chorizo was very burnt and the chips were rock hard! It wasn't at all what I was expecting flavour wise. My partner enjoyed his meal although said a little greasy but non the less enjoyed. The waitress there seemed uninterested to be there. The poor girl then had a malfunction with the till to which the manager again assumption took 5 mins to come and help even though he could see what was going on. I did tell him about my food, to which he deducted and I am thankful for however, the customer service here was also appalling and unfortunately we won't be returning Don't get me wrong the food looks delicious!
Excellent food and quality nice welcoming staff very reasonable price wine. Was at birthday party looked after very well.
Every single member of the team were wonderful. The customer service was on point! Our really lovely young waitress was flawless in her service and customer service. We couldn’t have been happier. We felt really looked after and like nothing was too much hassle. The food was perfect too! I had the Surf and Turf where I asked for my steak to be rare. It was spot on! And the portions were generous- so really felt like we got value for money. We would 100% recommend your lovely establishment to anyone and look forward to visiting you again soon.
What a lovely place to eat at. We were only planning on a quick drink but the menu looked so inviting that we couldn't resist. Food was nice and hot, and the service was excellent. Atmosphere was great. A nice varied menu and a good selection of different lagers. Good value for money as well. Def regiment to anyone and will be coming back again.
Mostly a very positive experience. Nice place, very friendly and helpful waitress, and food was reasonably priced and tasty. I have taken 1 star off for a few minor negatives... had bit of an issue booking which did get sorted in the end, my steak had a lot of gristle on, and my daughter paid over £4 for a pint of lemonade & squash which was ¾ full of ice so hardly any actual drink : ... She works in a restaurant herself, and said she would never put anywhere near that amount of ice in a drink. But, as I said we did have an enjoyable meal out, we did tip the waitress as she was so nice, and would come again.
Great little pub but it has changed. It has gone a bit up market prices on the food is a reflection on this. If your looking for just some where to get a drink maybe not the place food or a date night with the Mrs this is your place. Lovely little out side space. Staff are friendly and polite.
